"The forest coverage rate of Huangpu River Source Resort exceeds 85% and has strong carbon sink capacity. We want to build a zero-carbon resort. According to the plan, by 2025, resorts must complete the formulation of zero-carbon construction guidelines and promote energy conservation, carbon reduction and efficiency improvement in key departments." At Huangpu River Source Resort in Anji County, Zhejiang Province (Hereinafter referred to as resort) At the recently held Trend Life Festival, Peng Shuan, a doctor from the China Academy of Environmental Sciences, the leader of zero-carbon planning, said.

A view of Zhangcun in the resort, provided by interviewees.

Creating a zero-carbon resort with linkage between industry and housing, integration of urban and rural areas, rich villagers, and harmonious ecology was the focus at the beginning of its construction plan. How to ensure the realization of the zero-carbon goal? The resort starts from various aspects such as energy conservation and carbon reduction in the construction and transportation fields, and advocating green lifestyles to carry out innovative explorations.

Promote low-carbon and energy-saving renovation of buildings

"By implementing low-carbon and energy-saving construction and renovation in batches from easy to difficult, we will achieve a reduction in building carbon emissions by more than 8.0 kgCO.2/(m2·a) expected goals. In addition, integrate passive architectural design and building photovoltaics (BIPV) and new technologies such as intelligent management of building energy are applied to low-carbon construction of new buildings and low-carbon renovation of existing buildings." Peng Shuan introduced.

The reporter learned that the resort covers various building types such as public buildings, B & Bs, farmhouses, and residential buildings. Comprehensively promoting building energy conservation, carbon reduction and efficiency improvement is the "first move" created by zero-carbon resorts.

The construction of distributed household photovoltaic projects is also a highlight. It is estimated that by 2035, the per capita photovoltaic installed capacity of the resort will reach 1.5kW. It is worth mentioning that the resort is also striving to build zero-carbon demonstration buildings.

Peng Shuan told reporters: "The project will rely on the resort's large-scale venue buildings and be built in areas with convenient transportation and dense flow of people, such as tourist distribution centers, dual injection centers, biodiversity demonstration bases and zero-carbon digital intelligence centers, etc., integrating application of various energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies to create a demonstration of building carbon-neutral operation."

Promote new energy utilization of transportation

In previous research, the designers found that tourism transportation has become one of the main sources of carbon emissions contribution to the resort. The solution to the problem is undoubtedly to systematically promote overall energy conservation and carbon reduction in transportation.

Public transportation is undoubtedly the best way. "We will build a public transportation system that is dominated by the public transportation system and facilitates the travel of tourists and residents, including contact lines, tourist lines and bus backbone lines in the resort to achieve efficient operation." Peng Shuan introduced to reporters.

In addition, a slow-moving transportation system integrating scenic trails, trails, cycling greenways and rest stations will also be built inside the resort.

"In terms of new energy utilization of transportation, we are taking the lead in promoting new energy substitution for government vehicles, buses and scenic tourist buses. Through preferential parking fee policies for new energy vehicles and improved charging infrastructure, we will guide the new energy development of villagers 'private cars and social vehicles." Peng Shuan said,"It is estimated that by 2035, the new energy utilization rate of shuttle buses, tourist bus lines, and scenic shuttle buses in the scenic area will reach 100%."

The reporter learned that in terms of low-carbon transportation facilities, the resort promotes the formation of an overall layout of parking facilities with full coverage of ecological parking lots, key supplements of mechanical three-dimensional garages, and outstanding highlights of creative parking buildings.

"Villagers 'private parking spaces can also be used by tourists during their free hours to realize the utilization of idle resources. By formulating a smart scheduling plan for private parking spaces and introducing robotic automatic parking technology, tourists can enjoy convenient and fast parking services." Peng Shuan introduced to reporters.

Strengthen publicity and reward mechanisms

When tourists come, is it possible to better guide them to a green and low-carbon life?

The resort thought of it and did it. The resort launched the "Huangpu River Source Carbon Road Future" low-carbon tourism guide manual, starting from "What is low-carbon tourism? Why low-carbon tourism? What low-carbon tourism scenarios are there? How to achieve low-carbon tourism?" The four dimensions guide tourists to understand, understand, learn and practice low-carbon behaviors.

Specifically, in terms of diet, we advocate "Action CD" to reduce waste, and recommend giving priority to local ingredients, including bamboo shoots, bamboo chickens, etc.; in terms of accommodation, turn off lights and water at will, and the air conditioning temperature shall not be lower than 26 ° C in summer; In terms of travel, we advocate the "135" travel rules, that is, walking within 1 kilometer, cycling within 3 kilometers, and taking public transportation within 5 kilometers; When shopping, tourists are encouraged to give priority to local green and environmentally friendly products in the resort, including various exquisite bamboo handicrafts and special agricultural products.

Guidance is one, and "reward" is the second.

"We plan to launch a low-carbon tourism behavior points APP to connect the carbon inclusive platforms of Zhejiang Province and Huzhou City." Peng Shuan said,"Tourists can register an account and automatically calculate carbon points for low-carbon behaviors through the platform's carbon reduction calculator."

For example, if you walk 10000 steps, you can earn 33 carbon points, and if you accumulate 100 carbon points, you can exchange for a customized "carbon master" woven bag. These carbon points can also be used to exchange for room and accommodation discounts and ticket discounts in the resort. If you accumulate a certain number of points, you will receive the "Low Carbon Talent" Medal of Honor issued by the resort official.

In zero-carbon resorts, tourists 'low-carbon behavior will be greatly encouraged.

"The resort will refine the timetable, roadmap and construction drawings for zero-carbon construction, accelerate the completion and demonstration of key projects, explore new models and new paths for zero-carbon tourism to help Huangpu River source achieve rural revitalization and common prosperity, and provide Anji experience for rural revitalization and the realization of the goal of common prosperity." Peng Shuan said.
