The first ecological quality assessment standard for the autonomous region's ecological environment monitoring system was officially implemented
Recently, with the approval of the Autonomous Region Market Supervision and Administration Bureau and the leadership of the Autonomous Region Environmental Monitoring Station, the "Technical Specifications for Dynamic Assessment of Regional Ecological Quality" compiled by the Autonomous Region Meteorological Science Research Institute was officially released and will be implemented from October 2024.
The "Technical Specifications for Dynamic Assessment of Regional Ecological Quality" is based on the integrity of ecosystems, comprehensively considers forest, grassland, wetland, desert, sandy land and other ecosystem types, and carries out evaluation from three aspects: land use change, vegetation coverage status, and ecosystem status., highly integrates remote sensing and ground monitoring results, and generates area ratios and spatial distribution maps of different ecological quality levels. It has the characteristics of reducing the differences in ecological quality assessment results caused by different natural conditions in the east and west of Inner Mongolia.During the preparation process, the "Technical Specifications for Dynamic Assessment of Regional Ecological Quality" followed and refined the "Measures for Regional Ecological Quality Assessment (Trial)" by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, solicited opinions from first-class universities, scientific research institutes and relevant departments in the autonomous region and outside the region, conducted in-depth exchanges and consultations with the national ecological environment monitoring technical authorities, and formed an ecological quality assessment standard that aims at the supervision and assessment of service management departments and provides scientifically oriented policies. It is a breakthrough of far-reaching significance in the field of ecological monitoring in the autonomous region.In the next step, the Autonomous Region Environmental Monitoring Station will further promote the use and promotion of this standard throughout the region, and take this standard release as an opportunity to accelerate the research on the high-quality standard system for evaluating the effectiveness of desertification prevention and control and other local standards, and gradually build. Complete the Inner Mongolia ecological protection supervision work standard system, contributing to the comprehensive promotion of the construction of beautiful Inner Mongolia and the strengthening of important ecological security barriers in northern my country.
