There are more than 3200 river and lake chiefs like Jin Xilong in Jinhua City. Yongkang, the "world's hardware capital", has adopted full-process pollution prevention and control measures that include source reduction, refined process control, and efficient end-of-end management, and established a long-term mechanism for the prevention and control of volatile organic compound (VOCs) pollution. From 2019 to 2022, the total VOCs emissions in Yongkang City dropped by 60.5%, and it was rated as a Fresh Air Demonstration Zone in Zhejiang Province.
"Golden" ideas on the road to "Double Carbon" action
Walking into Wushanxia Village, Wangzhai Town, Wuyi County, Jinhua City, the two "containers" in the fields at the entrance of the village are particularly conspicuous. It turned out that this was a "zero-carbon smart planting cabin" jointly developed by Wushanxia Village and the Rural Revitalization Research Institute of Zhejiang Normal University.
Wushanxia Village is the third batch of "low (zero) carbon" village pilots in Zhejiang Province. Ge Yonggen, deputy director of the village committee, said that the "zero-carbon smart planting cabin" is movable and adopts a three-dimensional planting method. Compared with ordinary planting, the land utilization rate per unit area is increased by 15 times. The light, moisture, and fertilizer needed for crop growth in the cabin are all controlled by the Internet of Things, and the water saving efficiency reaches 95%. All the energy used in the planting cabin comes from the photovoltaic system on the top of the box.
The "low-carbon" tactics of Wushanxia Village do not stop there. It is understood that the village has built more than 1800 square meters of digital agricultural smart greenhouses, using big data and cloud technology to intelligently manage and protect carbon emissions. The in-depth implementation of the "Double Carbon" action has not only brought about changes in production and lifestyle, but also created a new landscape. Today, in Jinhua, Zhejiang Huachuan Shenneng Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. has become a place for Internet celebrities to check in. Walking into the company's factory area, the swimming pool, book bar, ecological lake and other landscapes complement each other. However, the real identity of this place is a garbage disposal site, which "eats" 1 million tons of domestic garbage every year,"spits" electricity, heat, and steam energy, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 200,000 tons.
After visiting the factory, Ms. Ji, a citizen of Jinhua, couldn't help but sigh: "This place is completely different from the garbage treatment plant in my impression. It doesn't look dirty at all. It's just like a scenic spot."
The "golden" trick to biodiversity conservation
Walking into the Huaxi Scenic Area of Anwen Street, Pan'an County, Jinhua City, you can not only appreciate the thousand-year-old flatbed creek and the verdant mountains and forests, but also the ecological bird houses hanging on the trees along the road are particularly eye-catching.

In May 2021, Jinhua Pan'an County was identified as the first pilot county for biodiversity friendly city construction in Zhejiang Province. According to a new round of background surveys, Jinhua has discovered more than 80 rare and endangered species, including Oriental white stork, black-faced spoonbill, white-necked long-tailed pheasant, yellow-bellied tragopan, Chinese pangolin, black muntjac, leopard cat, and silver sage, including 10 new plant species, 5 new insect species, and 15 new recorded species in Zhejiang.
