Cui Chunling, General Manager of Morikawa (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd.: Innovate the voluntary emission reduction mechanism to help achieve the "double carbon" goal

On April 18, the 25th IE Expo China, Asia's flagship environmental protection exhibition, co-sponsored by the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the China Chamber of Environmental Services, Messe München Group and China Trade Munich Messe (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. At the meeting, Cui Chunling, general manager of Morikawa (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., accepted an exclusive interview with China Environment News.

China Environment News:During the exhibition, we noticed that your company's booth attracted a lot of professors and scholars from universities to consult and communicate, what kind of enterprise is your company?

Cui Chunling：We are a company committed to promoting a resource-based circular economy, with resource conservation and recycling as the guiding principle, actively responding to the country's "double carbon" goal, and taking low emissions as the core R&D standard of intelligent environmental protection equipment.

At present, we have brought together a group of outstanding professional elites and R&D teams, with rich experience and profound technical background, to provide enterprises around the world with practical environmental protection new technologies, effective environmental protection solutions and carbon asset management solutions. We are committed to creating a green and low-carbon, beautiful environment, and harmonious living environment between man and nature, and contribute to the common development of the industrial ecosystem with the green and sustainable development of the enterprise itself.

China Environment News:In recent years, with the deepening of the country's attention to the ecological environment, from winning the "pollution control battle" to building a "beautiful China", a number of blockbuster documents have been promulgated.

Cui Chunling：The development direction of our enterprise is actually a witness to the country's strategic layout in ecological and environmental protection. When we set up the company, we were doing environmental protection engineering. With the gradual improvement of the ecological environment, traditional engineering projects cannot meet the development needs of enterprises. Transformation is urgent. Just in time for the national "double carbon" goal, we have also focused on "carbon". After repeated demonstrations with experts, we jointly built a carbon inclusive platform of the Ecological Builders Alliance. The platform mainly promotes low-carbon development from two aspects, one is to reduce emissions through the recycling of used clothes, kitchen waste, fertilizer resource utilization, electricity and water saving, green travel, etc., and promote low-carbon development. On the other hand, it helps enterprises to reduce carbon and sequester carbon in the process from the production process of the enterprise, including the whole life cycle of the whole industrial chain.

China Environment News:So, how does your company's carbon inclusion platform work on the individual side to achieve "inclusiveness"?

Cui Chunling：Through the CO2 emission factor base and related methodologies released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, we quantify the waste clothes in the community, kitchen waste converted into fertilizer and other resource reuse items, and redeem carbon credits for community residents. Taking our current cooperation zones and counties as an example, we combine carbon reduction with rural revitalization. For example, in Mi County, Shanxi Province and Lvliang County, Datong, community residents can use the accumulated carbon credits to exchange local agricultural and sideline products such as Lvliang sea buckthorn juice to increase local income.

Residents can also "harvest" while reducing carbon emissions. Our company has also passed the certification of a third-party verification agency to quantify and fairly reduce the amount of carbon reduced, and combined with the national greenhouse gas voluntary emission reduction trading market, to achieve a virtuous cycle of emission reduction and revenue generation.

China Environment News:Carbon is an invisible and untouchable gas, how does your company ensure the authenticity and accuracy of data quality in the process of verification?

Cui Chunling：Taking our low-carbon community as an example, we cooperate with the local community property company, and the property company as a third-party company jointly weighs and calculates the emission factors and methodologies issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Including the weighing of used clothes, there are also property management companies to verify and supervise, and ensure the whole process of monitoring. In addition, the local government will act as a fourth party to verify the amount of carbon we have verified, and multiple parties will ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the data.
