It is understood that the entire power station is 10 kilometers from east to west and 3 kilometers from north to south. The photovoltaic installed capacity is 800MW, the capacity ratio is 1.304, the actual installed capacity on the DC side is 1043MWp, the designed average annual power generation capacity is 1.613 billion kwh, and the energy storage scale is 200MW/800MWh. In June 2023, it was connected to the grid at full capacity, setting a new record for the installed capacity of Xinjiang Optical-Storage Integrated Power Station at that time. It was also the largest single capacity Optical-Storage Integrated Power Station of CNNC.

According to Jiang Bowei, the person in charge of the Shacha project, the integration of light storage is a highlight of the Shacha project. How does it store energy? "The project has built an energy storage power station with a scale of 200MW/800MWh and a peak capacity of 200MW. There are a total of 77 energy storage units, covering a total area of about 50 acres. Among them, each set of energy storage units consists of 2 battery compartments and 1 converter and booster integrated machine. "Jiang Bowei said.

The reporter learned that the battery compartment contains an energy storage battery. Currently, the domestic lithium iron phosphate power battery with a high safety factor is used. The battery has high energy and power density, high rate characteristics, and has a wide SOC operating range. Features.

"Energy storage technology is showing a diversified development trend, and electrochemical energy storage has obvious comprehensive competitive advantages. It is usually not limited by natural conditions. It charges quickly, discharge power and system efficiency are relatively high, and has great development potential." Jiang Bowei said.

Currently, the Shacha project is transforming the original photovoltaic supporting energy storage into a grid-side shared energy storage power station, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in November. After completion, it can effectively improve the intermittent nature of photovoltaic output, reduce the light abandonment rate, participate in regional power grid frequency modulation, peak shaving and other functions, and enhance the clean energy acceptance capacity of regional power grids.

Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is an important energy production base in my country, with solar energy and wind energy resource reserves among the top in the country. The average annual sunshine hours in Kashgar Prefecture reach 2740 hours, and the utilization hours of photovoltaic power generation are 1500 hours. Resource endowment advantages have also caused the installed photovoltaic capacity in Kashgar Prefecture to increase year after year.

In recent years, CNNC Xinhua Power Generation has vigorously promoted the construction of integrated water, light and storage projects. The Shacha 1 million-kilowatt light and storage integrated power station is built relying on the Artash Water Conservancy Project to complement water, light and storage.

According to statistics, the project can save about 198,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 534,000 tons every year. It greatly improves the instability of local photovoltaic power generation, improves power generation efficiency, and realizes the scientific and efficient development of green energy resources in the Yarkant River Basin., injecting new momentum into the economic development of southern Xinjiang and contributing to the realization of the "double carbon" goal.
