"The job just now is 'carbon accounting', which checks and determines the current carbon dioxide emission levels of enterprises." Yang Qingrui is a post-90s generation and is responsible for carbon consultation-related business at Wuhan Huayuan Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. This is an emerging profession that is accompanied by the construction of ecological civilization and the realization of the "double carbon" goal.

Since May 2023, Yang Qingrui has successively obtained the "Carbon Emission Management Training Certificate" and the "Carbon Neutrality Planner" certificate jointly issued by the National Carbon Trading Capacity Building Training Center and the Hubei Carbon Emissions Trading Center. Since then, he has provided carbon neutrality planning services to many companies and has received unanimous praise.

"Simply put, my responsibility is to provide companies with tailor-made carbon reduction solutions and plan a low-carbon or even zero-carbon green development path." Yang Qingrui introduced that his work mainly consists of three parts: carbon accounting, carbon emission reduction, and carbon trading.

"Carbon accounting" refers to the accounting and inspection process mentioned above. By checking data ledgers and going to the production line to check the monitoring and measuring equipment, a comprehensive "physical examination" is conducted for the company's carbon emission status, providing data support for subsequent actions.

When companies have energy conservation and emission reduction needs, Yang Qingrui and his team colleagues will start from clean energy substitution, energy efficiency improvement, and energy-saving transformation, make full use of local renewable resources, and tailor the overall carbon reduction plan for the company. This is "carbon emission reduction".

In addition, Yang Qingrui can also match "carbon transactions" to realize resource allocation. If the company's carbon emissions for that year exceed the carbon quota, it needs to go to the carbon market to purchase the excess amount for payment of performance; if it does not exceed the limit, it can sell the excess carbon quota to obtain income.

If carbon accounting is the foundation, carbon emission reduction can better show professional depth and forward-looking vision.

In July 2023, the green energy construction project of Dongfeng Motor M Park, in which Yang Qingrui deeply participated, was successfully completed. When he saw large tracts of distributed photovoltaics laid on the roof and carport of the factory in the aerial photo, the pride of "the future is here" arose spontaneously. Yang Qingrui said that the successful completion of the project shows the huge potential and development prospects of renewable energy.
