Chinanews.comHaikou, December 9 (Reporter Sun Zifa Zhang Qianyi) The 2023 World New Energy Vehicle Conference, co-sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Hainan Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, was held in Haikou, Hainan from December 7 to 9.
The "Roadmap for the Green and Low-Carbon Development of China's Automotive Industry 1.0" was jointly researched and compiled by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China and China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. and jointly researched and compiled by relevant institutions, and Li Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and honorary chairman of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, officially released and interpreted the main research results at the 2023 World New Energy Vehicle Conference.

Li Jun pointed out that green and low-carbon development is the internal demand for the high-quality development of China's automobile industry, and at present, China's automobile industry has the foundation and conditions for green and low-carbon development, first, the accelerated application of energy-saving vehicle technologies such as hybrids, high-efficiency internal combustion engines, and advanced transmissions, and the average fuel consumption of new cars with traditional energy passenger cars in 2022 will decrease by more than 15% compared with 2012; Second, breakthroughs have been made in the key core technologies of new energy vehicles, supporting China's production and sales of new energy vehicles to rank first in the world for eight consecutive years, and the cumulative promotion volume accounts for nearly 60% of the world, creating a good foundation and conditions for the automobile industry to further accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation process in the new era.
The "Roadmap for the Green and Low-Carbon Development of China's Automotive Industry 1.0" clarifies the carbon emission accounting boundary of the automotive industry for the first time at the industry level, and puts forward the overall goal of the green and low-carbon development of the automotive industry, that is, to strive to reach the peak of carbon emissions by 2030, and then through more than 30 years of continuous efforts, the automotive industry will achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, supporting the national carbon neutrality development goal to be achieved as scheduled.
The roadmap also lays out a key path for the green and low-carbon development of China's auto industry. In terms of automotive products, the market penetration rate of new energy vehicles will reach 45% by 2025 and 60% by 2030, 50% by 2025 and 65% by 2030. At the same time, it is necessary to attach great importance to the energy conservation and emission reduction of traditional energy vehicles, and make it clear that internal combustion engine vehicles will still be an important development route for automobiles for a long time, and relevant energy-saving technologies should be continuously optimized to continuously reduce the fuel consumption of traditional energy vehicles.
In terms of automobile manufacturing, it is necessary to promote the transformation and upgrading of automobile manufacturing to green and low-carbon by improving the energy utilization efficiency of the plant, implementing energy substitution and carbon reduction transformation, promoting the upgrading of production processes and equipment, and improving the level of resource recycling, so as to achieve a 18% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per unit of added value of the automobile manufacturing industry by 2025 compared with 2020, and continue to decline thereafter.
Considering that the green and low-carbon development of the automobile industry is an arduous, complex and long-term system engineering, the "Roadmap for the Green and Low-Carbon Development of China's Automobile Industry 1.0" emphasizes the overall development and safety, current and long-term, overall and partial, domestic and international relations, and proposes to promote the transformation of green and low-carbon management in an orderly manner, continue to support green and low-carbon technology innovation, vigorously promote the development of green and low-carbon vehicles, and accelerate the construction of a green and low-carbon manufacturing system. The 15 safeguard measures and recommendations in five aspects of the co-construction of a green carbon reduction synergy system aim to provide strong support for China's auto industry to accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation.
Li Jun also revealed that there is still room for growth of about 200 million cars in China, and it is expected that the number of cars will reach saturation around 2055, with a total of more than 500 million. (ENDS)
