Recently, according to information provided by Jiangbei Branch of the Ecological Environment Bureau of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, the "two new" key national standard project "Regenerated Copper and Copper Alloy Bars and Wires"(GB/T 26311-2024) sponsored by Ningbo Jintian Copper (Group) Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as Jintian Copper) has been officially released. The promulgation of this standard marks an important step for my country in promoting the green and low-carbon development of the recycled copper processing industry.
It is understood that the implementation of this standard not only provides technical support for clearly defining the production of copper bar products from recycled copper and copper alloys, but also helps ensure the stable and reliable quality of bar products to meet market and customer needs. In addition, the implementation of this standard will also help enhance the international competitiveness of recycled copper and copper alloy rod products, and promote standardization, standardized operations and applications among relevant domestic industries.
According to relevant persons from Jintian Copper Industry, compared with copper concentrate, using 1 ton of copper processing materials can save 1054 kilograms of standard coal, save about 395 kilograms of water, and reduce more than 100 tons of solid waste. According to preliminary estimates, at the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan", my country's recycled copper industry is expected to achieve a carbon reduction of 10.8 million tons, showing good ecological benefits.
It is worth mentioning that the classification of this standard highlights high-quality recycled copper and copper alloy rods and wires produced from recycled materials (recycled raw materials). Its product performance is equivalent to copper and copper alloy bars produced from primary copper, effectively ensuring the quality stability of recycled copper and copper alloy bars and wires. It not only saves energy and reduces carbon emissions, but also meets the production needs and carbon emissions of downstream customers. Emission requirements.
In addition, Jintian Copper also actively participated in the drafting and compilation of "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Accounting and Reporting Requirements-Copper Smelting Enterprises"(GB/T 32151.42-2024), which clarified the accounting boundaries, accounting methods and related requirements for greenhouse gas emissions in the copper smelting industry, providing a scientific basis for copper smelting enterprises to accurately control their own carbon emissions.
