Suzhou's first international green construction certification bank outlet opens

Recently, the Bank of China Suzhou Shishan Business Innovation Zone Branch, the first international green construction LEED gold-level certified bank outlet in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, opened.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design), a pioneer in energy and environmental design, is currently the most recognized and widely used green building certification system in the world. It is also one of the most effective tools to promote sustainable economic development.

In recent years, Suzhou City has steadily and solidly promoted the "double carbon" work, strived to build a green and low-carbon development system, and piloted the development of green buildings earlier. In the fields of industrial manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, office buildings and other fields, the scale of green construction ranks among the top domestic industrial cities. Bank of China Suzhou Branch actively implements green concepts and develops green finance, providing strong financial support for many green building projects and green production projects within its jurisdiction. As of the first half of 2024, the bank's green credit balance exceeded 147 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 25% of the bank's various loans.

The reporter learned that in the early stage of design, Bank of China Suzhou Shishan Business Innovation Zone Sub-branch implemented various standards and specifications one by one focusing on network site selection, green construction, indoor environment, energy and water resources, and environmentally friendly material utilization, further increasing green investment in building materials, furniture, and facilities to ensure that the network construction process and hardware configuration are green, low-carbon and environmentally friendly.

As a green finance demonstration site for Bank of China Suzhou Branch, Suzhou Shishan Business Innovation Zone Branch has not only obtained LEED green certification, but also obtained a carbon neutrality certificate issued by the Guangzhou Carbon Emissions Trading Center.
