On June 14, a national collaborative innovation training class on pollution reduction and carbon reduction sponsored by the Comprehensive Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment was held in Haining and Port Areas of Jiaxing. Wang Huilin said in her speech that with the strong support and guidance of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Jiaxing has focused on pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the industrial sector, seized the opportunity of Zhejiang to build the country's first collaborative innovation zone for pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and actively promoted Institutional innovation, model innovation, and technological innovation, took the lead in formulating a municipal-level pollution reduction and carbon reduction synergy index, fully implemented the carbon assessment access mechanism for major industrial projects, and incorporated carbon emissions into the "Heroes per acre" evaluation system for industrial land. A total of 19 provincial-level collaborative innovation pilots for pollution reduction and carbon reduction have been created and 51 benchmark projects have been created, ranking first in the province in the number. Full coverage of provincial-level pilot counties (cities, districts) has been achieved, and it has been successfully selected into the first batch of national pollution reduction and carbon reduction collaborative innovation city pilots.
The students also went to Jingke Energy (Haining) Co., Ltd., Jiaxing Port Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park, Zhejiang Huiheyuan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and Jiaxing Port Industrial Sewage Treatment Co., Ltd. for on-site inspections. At the Jiaxing Port Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park, students conducted on-site inspections of hydrogen energy production and utilization in the area. In recent years, Jiaxing Port Area has relied on the rich hydrogen resource advantages of China Chemical New Materials (Jiaxing) Park to seize the window period for hydrogen energy development, superimposed and developed the hydrogen energy industry on the basis of the new chemical material industry, focusing on the "industrial chain" and "innovation chain", make every effort to attract and promote hydrogen energy projects, promote the agglomeration of hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing enterprises, deepen hydrogen energy application scenarios, and strive to create a hydrogen energy industry ecology. The green, low-carbon and intelligent industrial ecological park in Jiaxing Port Area deeply touched the students.
At the Jiaxing Port Area Industrial Sewage Treatment Plant, the students gained an in-depth understanding of the port area's innovation in wastewater treatment. Through the innovative application of "thiocarbon denitrification" technology, the industrial sewage treatment plant replaces sulfur-containing waste lye that should be treated as pollutants with the carbon source needed to be added for wastewater treatment, directly reducing carbon emissions. After calculations, it is estimated that 1928 tons of pollutant emission reduction and more than 18,000 tons of carbon reduction can be achieved annually.
Jiaxing City started its industries early and has relatively complete categories, but its industrial structure is biased and it is a typical industrial city. In recent years, Jiaxing has vigorously implemented the strategy of "manufacturing a strong city", actively explored collaborative governance paths for industrial pollution reduction and carbon reduction, promoted industrial green and low-carbon transformation, and was selected as a pilot city for industrial pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the province, and was selected as the first batch of national-level reduction.
