"After review, your organization has completed the cancellation of 7 tons of carbon credits, including 4 tons of internationally certified voluntary emission reduction VCUs and 3 tons of Sanming Forestry carbon coupons, which are used to offset the 7th China International Import Expo held in Shanghai. Greenhouse gases generated by the North Bund Pavilion." The carbon neutrality certificate issued by the Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange is displayed in the North Bund Pavilion of the 7th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as the CIIE), which means that the North Bund Pavilion will be prepared, held and completed. Greenhouse gases generated will be offset and become a "zero-carbon exhibition hall."

"Zero carbon" and "green" are the key words of this CIIE. In order to achieve "zero-carbon CIIE","zero-plastic standards" and "green exhibitions", the 7th CIIE continues to explore measures for green exhibitions focusing on four aspects: green booths, green construction, green transportation, and green catering.
Electricity is green. In order to achieve 100% all-green electricity to host the CIIE, the CIIE purchased 10 million kilowatt hours of green certificates and used "zero carbon emissions" to hold exhibitions to ensure green power consumption demand in the two months before and after the 7th CIIE. It is expected that it can reduce carbon emissions by approximately 4200 tons, and the scale and duration of green power consumption are the largest in history.
The booth construction is green. The entire process from design to construction to final demolition of the CIIE booth follows the "6R concept", namely: Respect (principle of respect), Renew (use of renewable and new materials), Reuse and Recycle (reusable and recyclable materials), Reduce (reduce waste and pollutants), and Remember (enhance memory and education). During the booth construction process, simplified and modular design is adopted, renewable and recyclable materials are used to reduce the negative impact of waste and pollutants on the environment and ensure safe construction.
Transportation is green. There are many exhibition areas for the CIIE, and the exhibits on display are produced overseas and come from a wide range of sources. In order to protect goods while improving transportation efficiency and effectively reducing carbon emissions, the CIIE shortens transportation by rationally arranging and planning transportation routes and warehouse addresses. Routes, increasing vehicle loading rates, investing in new energy freight vehicles and other measures to achieve the goal of energy conservation and carbon reduction. At the same time, in the packaging sector, the CIIE promotes recyclable, degradable and renewable packaging materials, eliminates the use of disposable plastic outer packaging and related bundling materials, and reduces resource loss.
Food is green. The "green" of diet extends from fixed catering enterprises to temporary catering, catering, and guaranteed catering enterprises, advocating the use of degradable tableware, packaging boxes, packaging bags, etc. The CIIE has always done a good job in promoting and guiding green catering, carried out CD-ROM action self-discipline initiatives, and continued to create a "zero-plastic standard" for catering services at the CIIE.
Travel is also green. The CIIE cooperates with new energy vehicle brand NIO to introduce no less than 50 pure electric reception vehicles, practice the concept of "green and environmentally friendly travel", and actively expand service extension to provide clean energy infrastructure, exclusive power exchange stations and charging piles encourage exhibitors to travel by public transportation.
"The Import Expo must not only be held every year, but also be held at a high level, with results, and with better results." This is China's commitment to the world. Achieving the "double carbon" goal is also my country's solemn commitment to the world. Moving in the opposite direction, stimulating more green energy and holding a better CIIE with less carbon emissions.
