Recently, the research and assistance team of the Department of Ecology and Environment of Gansu Province went to key enterprises in Jiayuguan City to conduct research on the green and low-carbon development and synergy work of pollution reduction and carbon reduction. The research team successively went to Jiugang Group Hongsheng Electric Heating, Dongxing Aluminum Company, ironmaking plant, and carbon steel sheet factory to conduct on-site research to understand the company's main process equipment, product energy consumption and carbon emissions in key sectors such as new energy, steel, and electrolytic aluminum., and exchange discussions on green and low-carbon development ideas and paths.
At the symposium, Jiugang Group reported on the current status of corporate carbon emission management, main indicators and ideas for the next step in low-carbon development. The research team fully affirmed the results achieved by the company in adjusting the industry and energy structure and building a carbon asset management system. Exchanges were held on the inclusion of steel and nonferrous metals industries in carbon market transactions, as well as carbon footprint management throughout the life cycle of products, and the EU carbon border adjustment mechanism, and work requirements were put forward on how companies can better promote green, low-carbon and high-quality development in the next step.
The research team pointed out that Jiugang Group Company has the largest carbon emissions in the province, and the coordinated development level and process of green transformation and pollution reduction and carbon reduction are of great significance to the development of enterprises and even the province's promotion of dual carbon work. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", Jiugang Group Co., Ltd. has invested a large amount of money to implement projects such as process equipment improvement and product structure adjustment, ultra-low emission transformation, smart grid and on-site consumption of new energy. The green and low-carbon transformation has been vigorously promoted. In follow-up work, we must improve data quality management, strictly enforce carbon emission compliance and payment, improve the construction of green and low-carbon institutional systems, promote the transition from dual control of energy consumption to dual control of carbon emissions, carry out product carbon footprint management, and apply for green and low-carbon technology demonstration project projects.
