Recently, the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Committee of Shiyan City, Hubei Province and the Municipal Public Utilities Service Center organized maintenance personnel to inspect several "strike" street lights on Checheng West Road, Zhangwan District. After a while, these street lights returned to normal lighting.
According to the relevant person in charge, the problem of "no lights on the road, and no lights on the lights" on some roads not only brings inconvenience to citizens when traveling at night, but also poses road traffic safety hazards. In March this year, the Shiyan City Urban Management and Law Enforcement Committee launched a special action to "illuminate the way home" to make up for the shortcomings of street lamp construction and facilitate people's travel. At present, a total of 526 street lights have been added and 2604 street lights have been repaired and replaced.
Since the beginning of this year, the Shiyan City Urban Management Law Enforcement Commission has taken deepening the construction of capabilities and work styles as the starting point, optimized urban road travel conditions, promoted intelligent management of urban lighting facilities, and promoted green and low-carbon development.
The Shiyan City Urban Management and Law Enforcement Commission has installed "smart brains" on street lights to achieve "one-click control" and effectively save electricity. The lighting monitoring and management system is connected to the operation management service platform, collects outdoor natural illumination through light-controlled equipment, and intelligently regulates and switches the time for street lights. In severe weather, the system automatically reminds when the natural light reaches the threshold. The staff manually adjusts the opening and closing time of the street lights according to the actual situation to minimize energy consumption while meeting the road lighting. At present, this unit has installed 210 sets of automatic monitoring terminal equipment, realizing intelligent control of 21902 street lights on primary and secondary roads in the central Urban area. From January to August this year, this method saved a total of 1.33 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1300 tons.
Intelligent control and management of street lights is an innovation of the Shiyan City Urban Management Law Enforcement Committee using digital information technology to promote urban management. In the next step, this unit will pay attention to training, implement hard, improve efficiency, and manage the city with intelligence to provide citizens with better services.
