Hydrogen energy, known as the "ultimate energy of the 21st century", is clean, low-carbon, efficient and sustainable.

In the plant area of Chuanwei Chemical, there is a hydrogen production unit that occupies a small area but plays a huge role, which uses pressure swing adsorption technology (PSA), purifying crude hydrogen from industrial by-products into high-purity hydrogen.

"This is the largest hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply plant project in Southwest China. Yang Tao said, "The input end of the device is connected to the crude hydrogen pipeline of Chuanwei Chemical 50 meters away, and the output end is connected to the hydrogen energy mother station 500 meters away.PSA) technology to produce 3,000 cubic meters of high-purity hydrogen per hour. ”

Next to Huazhong Avenue in Chongqing Changshou Economic Development Zone, there is a red and blue gas station-like building, which is the first hydrogen energy mother station in Changshou, which can meet the hydrogen demand of 20 hydrogen refueling stations in the "Chengdu-Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor".

"We have made full use of the advantages of the integrated development of hydrogen energy upstream and downstream, and built a new hydrogen purification device and a hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen refueling mother station in the Chuanwei Chemical Plant Area and the comprehensive energy mother station of Chongqing Petroleum Changshou Economic Development Zone. Yang Tao said, "The production of high-purity hydrogen, through a 500-meter-long pipeline to the hydrogen refueling integrated energy mother station, the mother station can be filled with long-tube trailers wholesale sales of hydrogen, and the hydrogen refueling sub-station across the wall can also directly refuel hydrogen vehicles to achieve retail hydrogen." ”

"This is the largest integrated hydrogen supply and refueling project in southwest China, which has reduced the cost of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and hydrogen transportation by more than three percent. It provides a low-cost and environmentally friendly reference scheme and model for the large-scale promotion and application of green hydrogen in China. Yang Tao said.

Yang Tao told reporters: "Previously, the application scenarios of hydrogen refueling in Chongqing existed in the form of a single hydrogen refueling station, using a long-tube trailer to transfer hydrogen to the station. The project integrates hydrogen purification (Hydrogen production), hydrogen refueling as a whole, the use of pipeline hydrogen to the station, the realization of hydrogen-station-vehicle integration application scenarios. ”

Why does Chuanwei Chemical want to build such an integrated hydrogen production unit? It has its own resource advantages and policy support.

Chuanwei Chemical is an enterprise that relies on natural gas to produce chemical products, and in its production process, it will produce a large amount of industrial by-product hydrogen, with a hydrogen content of 96%-98.5%.

"We produce acetic acid, which produces about 400 million cubic meters of industrial by-product hydrogen a year. In the past, due to technical limitations, it was mainly burned as a fuel for the production of acetic acid, and it was not purified and efficiently utilized. Yang Tao explained.

At present, China has identified hydrogen energy as an important part of the future national energy system and an energy-using terminal. As an important support for green and low-carbon transformation, hydrogen energy is also a key development direction for strategic emerging industries and future industries.

The "China Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Report 2020" predicts that in 2050, China will enter a hydrogen energy society, and hydrogen energy will account for 10% of China's final energy consumption.

Chongqing also made it clear that it will steadily promote the construction of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen transportation, hydrogen refueling and other facilities, and jointly build the "Chengdu-Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor" with Chengdu.

"This provides us with a huge opportunity to develop hydrogen energy, and the company has formulated a hydrogen energy development plan and began to physically purify the industrial by-product hydrogen, which can be used as hydrogen for hydrogen fuel cells and can also be used in industrial production. Yang Tao told reporters.

"In the future, we will also add new projects in a timely manner according to the actual situation of hydrogen energy development, increase high-purity hydrogen production capacity, maximize the benefits of hydrogen resource utilization, and continue to provide strong hydrogen energy support for the construction of the Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor and the construction of the Western Hydrogen Valley.
