Recently, the 200kW marine fuel cell power generation system (OCEAN-200) independently developed by Jiangsu Yaoyang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. located in Guangling Economic Development Zone, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, was successfully approved by the China Classification Society (CCS) type and filled the gap in the domestic single-system 200kW marine fuel cell system. It is understood that China Classification Society is the only professional organization in China engaged in ship classification inspection.

The reporter learned that the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have clearly included the hydrogen energy industry in the emerging industries that are key to cultivating and building, and have specially issued the "Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of Hydrogen Energy Industry in Yangzhou City (2023-2035)." The "Research and Development of High-Power, Efficient and Reliable Fuel Cell Systems for Ships" project led by Jiangsu Yaoyang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has been approved for the "Double Carbon" special major science and technology project in Jiangsu Province in 2023. The project can effectively solve the zero-carbon power needs of 3000-ton inland freight ships, fill the gap in single-stack high-power hydrogen fuel cell systems at home and abroad, and promote the research and development of megawatt fuel cell stack technology, realize energy substitution, and convert old and new kinetic energy. It is of great significance, and it is a new practice in Yangzhou to deeply implement the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

The 200kW marine fuel cell power generation system (OCEAN-200) independently developed by Jiangsu Yaoyang has made new breakthroughs in integrated technology. The energy efficiency reaches 47% at a rated power of 200kW, and the reserve power reaches 248kW. It is easy to expand multiple systems in parallel, and the design life and safety are significantly improved compared with vehicle-mounted systems. The system can meet the ship power of most inland secondary waterways, and can also meet the ship power demand of higher power by connecting multiple systems in parallel to the DC bus.

"A single marine fuel cell system with a rated power of 200kW is currently the only one in China." Chen Ting, head of Jiangsu Yaoyang, said that the annual carbon emissions of the shipbuilding industry are as high as 1.12 billion tons, accounting for 4.5% of the global total carbon dioxide emissions. This figure is still growing. Ships are in urgent need of clean energy such as hydrogen energy to replace traditional high-polluting diesel power. However, due to the high-power demand characteristics of ship power, if hydrogen power wants to replace diesel power, it must develop high-power or ultra-high-power fuel cell systems that meet the needs of ships."And our product, 200kW marine fuel cell power generation system (OCEAN-200), meets this requirement."

Taking the Yangzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal as an example, statistics show that in 2022, the ship throughput of the Yangzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal will reach 373 million tons, and the cargo volume will reach 300 million tons, which is twice the throughput of the Three Gorges Ship Lock, equivalent to 5 The traffic volume of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway (Jiangsu Section) and 10 Beijing-Shanghai Railways (Jiangsu Section).

Since the beginning of this year, a total of 19 days of ship throughput has exceeded one million tons, of which the ship throughput exceeded one million tons for seven consecutive days from May 12 to 18."Therefore, the research and development of clean energy power systems such as hydrogen energy in ships will be promising. Our company is at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the canal, and our R & D team is working hard to contribute to the cause of ship emission reduction." Chen Ting said.
