The mighty wind blows the blades, and the slowly rotating fan sends green electricity to thousands of households. Recently, the reporter came to Xing 'an League in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to visit CGNPC's 3-million-kilowatt wind power project in Xing' an League, and to deeply experience the supporting role of the wind power base project on social development.

Standing in this large wind power base and looking around, wind turbines stretch endlessly on the vast grassland, standing like guards. As the largest onshore wind power base in operation in China, how much clean electricity can it generate every year? Wu Zhengyong, deputy director of Goldwind Technology's domestic onshore product line, gave the answer: "This wind power base has installed 701 wind turbines, providing more than 10 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy every year, equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by about 2.96 million tons, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions are approximately 8.02 million tons, equivalent to 22,500 hectares of afforestation."

Why build a large wind power base project? Wu Zhengyong said: "The large base project is large in scale, has many units, and has a large power generation capacity. It is a 'training ground' for various fields such as engineering construction, unit quality, operation and maintenance guarantee, and power grid dispatching in the power industry. In addition to providing massive amounts of green electricity to society, it can also stimulate the development of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry chain and inject impetus into the vigorous development of the green economy."

How to better ensure operation and maintenance for such large-scale wind power equipment? At the centralized control center of CGNPC's Xing 'an League operation and maintenance base jointly built by Goldwind Technology and CGNPC, various operational data of wind turbines are displayed on a large screen. According to reports, the operation of the five functional modules of centralized control operation, production management, data analysis, status warning, and intelligent operation and maintenance can provide reliable technical support for operators, realize intelligent, digital, and automated management models, and improve operation and maintenance work. Efficiency and quality ensure the stable operation of large wind power base projects.

The winter temperature in Xing 'an League has been around minus 30 degrees for a long time. The winter wind speed is above 10m/s all year round, and the extreme wind speed can reach 40m/s. The local snowfall period covers October to April of the following year. During the winter operation and maintenance period of the project, it takes an average of 4 to 5 people to shovel snow for nearly 3 hours every day, which greatly increases the difficulty of operation and maintenance. It is understood that Goldwind team uses unit data monitoring to avoid the risk of failure and shutdown in advance, and conducts inspection and monitoring of large components based on the vibration monitoring and early warning system and blade smart cameras to enhance intelligent adjustment. Through various operation and maintenance methods, compared with the same period in 2022, the number of manual inspections in the winter of 2023 has been reduced by approximately 77%, effectively reducing operation and maintenance costs, ensuring personnel safety, and improving project efficiency.

The full-capacity commissioning of the project not only brings a steady stream of "green electricity", but also adds color to local social governance. Among the many wind turbines, there are some "conspicuous bags": their towers are either painted with blue or red paint, or are painted with five-star red flags and grassland scenery, and are also printed with slogans such as "Red Spirit," passed down from generation to generation "and" benefiting human society ".

"Xing 'an League is an old revolutionary base area and has a long history and culture. These special paints on the towers deeply integrate the project and local culture, embodying the concept of harmonious coexistence between wind power development and the natural environment." Wu Zhengyong said.

It is understood that in addition to the successful practice of CGNPC's Xing 'an League 3-million-kilowatt project, Goldwind Technology has also implemented a 60,000-kilowatt wind power green microgrid, green power supply in Xing' an League Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the world's largest wind power hydrogen production coupled system. Green methanol project-Xing 'an League wind power coupled system of 500,000 tons of green methanol project and other related projects, providing new impetus for Xing' an League's local energy transformation. In order to effectively promote the industrial agglomeration effect of Xing 'an League's new energy equipment manufacturing industry, Goldwind Technology combined with wind power projects to achieve localized production of main equipment locally, and attracted large wind power component companies such as Sinoma blades to settle down. On the one hand, it is for wind power projects. Localized supply of construction, and on the other hand, it also promotes the wind power industry chain to take root in Xing' an League.

Economic, social and ecological benefits are win-win. The largest onshore wind power base in China in operation will continue to blow the "green wind" far away, turning the successful experience of leading enterprises into green seeds to take root in the land of the motherland, allowing Large wind power bases have become a source of power for a sustainable future.
