Gucheng builds an industrial base for recycling waste resources

Recently,"National Media Watching Xiangyang Wind Collection Activity" entered the Gucheng Economic Development Zone of Xiangyang City, Hubei Province to visit the Gucheng model under the circular economy of "Symbiosis and Co-Prosperity Golden Valley City".

Hubei Sanhuan Axle Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as Sanhuan Axle) mainly produces automobile front axles and automobile axles, and is one of China's top 100 auto parts companies. Walking into the production workshop, I saw workers operating an orange power-assisted robot to remove a pitch-black front axle of a car that looked like a big bow from the side track.

In the finished product stacking area, two different automobile front axle products can be seen. "This is an automobile front axle product that we have lightweighted and produced on the premise of ensuring the mechanical properties of the front axle." Yang Fan, director of the Safety Technology and Environmental Protection Department of Sanhuan Axle, said.

The difference between the lightweight front axle he referred to and the traditional front axle is that the middle section of the lightweight front axle adopts a hollow design, with two holes cut out in the "big bow". In this way, the weight per unit product has been reduced by 40 kilograms and the cost of raw materials has been reduced by 260 yuan, which has complied with the requirements of the automotive industry for lightweight, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Outside the workshop, photovoltaic power generation panels are neatly arranged on the idle land. This is the second-phase photovoltaic power station project being built by Sanhuan Automobile Bridge. It is about to be completed and connected to the grid, with a power generation capacity of 9.95MW. "On the roof that we can't see, the photovoltaic project with a first-phase power generation capacity of 3.14MW has been connected to the grid for power generation." Yang Fan said.

The construction and implementation of photovoltaic power station projects is an important part of the Third Ring Bridge to promote clean production, energy conservation and carbon reduction. According to reports, compared with thermal power plants of the same size, after completion, the photovoltaic power station can save 57.96 tons of coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 78.14 tons, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 5.68 tons, reduce nitrogen oxides by 3.57 tons, and reduce haze and dust by 51.13 tons., saving 708.36 cubic meters of purified water.

Gucheng County is located in the automobile industry belts of Wuhan, Xiangyang and Shiyan. It is the hinterland of the automobile industry corridor in the central and western regions. Waste metals, especially waste lead, waste aluminum, and waste steel resources are rich. In the workshop of Hubei Xinjinyang Resources Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as Xinjinyang Resources), waste aluminum in tons is undergoing gorgeous transformation.

"The aluminum waste recovered from the market is first subjected to a series of raw material treatment processes in the pretreatment workshop such as crushing, magnetic separation, screening, eddy current and X-ray machines to separate high-quality aluminum waste materials. This is the recycling of aluminum waste resources. A very important link." said Su Muyang, manager of the production department of Xinjinyang Resources.

As waste aluminum materials enter the production workshop of Xinjinyang Resources, they go through smelting, refining, casting, processing and other processes to turn into recycled aluminum parts products. It is widely used in automobiles, high-speed rail, electronics and power, construction, aerospace, 5G communications, motorcycles, electric vehicles, hardware parts industry, military industry and other fields.

Based on the green, low-carbon renewable resource recycling industry and adhering to the strategic positioning of recycled cast aluminum alloy + high-end aluminum alloy new materials, Xinjinyang Resources has now formed an annual comprehensive recycling of 250,000 tons of renewable resources, an annual utilization of 100,000 tons of aluminum water, and an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons of recycled aluminum alloy and 10 million sets of cast aluminum parts.

In recent years, Gucheng County has vigorously developed a circular economy, led by Camel Huazhong, New Jinyang, Jinyang Metallurgical, Third Ring Car Bridge, Third Ring Forging, and Jinnaite, it has continuously promoted the development of high-end industries and established a circular industrial system with distinctive characteristics, strong driving force, intensive clusters, and chain expansion. It is understood that in the next step, Gucheng County will strive to account for 78.6% of the total industrial output value of the economic development zone by 2025, and the total industrial output value will exceed 100 billion yuan, creating the largest waste resource recycling industrial base in the central region.
