Chengdu City People's Park is a "time-honored brand" park in Chengdu embedded in the downtown area. It is a must-check place to experience Chengdu's slow life.
On the small square at the east gate of People's Park, square dance enthusiasts were dancing to music and video pictures. The volume was moderate but not harsh. This is in sharp contrast to the noise that disturbed the people when multiple stereos were ringing and music came one after another.
In the past, there were more than 70 cultural performance teams and fitness dam dance teams in the park, which interfered with tourists and surrounding residents. In addition, there were phenomena of arbitrary charges, illegal profits, and random hanging of flags and banners. Citizens complained many and called People's Park dubbed "the noisiest park in the world."
In recent years, relevant municipal departments in Chengdu City, local streets and park management have attached great importance to the problem of noise disturbing the park, and have taken multiple measures to explore a new path to control entertainment noise in the park, gradually transforming the "world's noisiest park" into a quiet and beautiful garden.

Yang Mingjie, a staff member of the operation and management of smart noise reduction equipment in People's Park, said that this equipment uses advanced ultrasonic directional propagation technology to realize that the sound emitted by the equipment is concentrated in a fixed area and transmitted. Only people in the sound field can feel clear sound. Beyond this range, the sound is greatly attenuated to below environmentally friendly decibels, which can control noise from the source of the sound and optimize the public sound environment.
Yang Mingjie conducted a sound decibel test on the spot."Current measurements show that it is around 80 decibels. This is also the previous stage of repeated trials and communication between relevant departments and the public to find a balanced decibel number that is relatively acceptable to citizens, tourists, entertainment teams, and park management."
In addition, the smart dance venue system is also equipped with an intelligent management backend. After the square dance troupe has registered with the People's Park Management Department, the park will open the appointment authority to the head of the dance troupe. They can reserve the admission time and songs in advance on their mobile phones and enter in an orderly manner. The electronic screen equipped with this device will also play some civilized cities, ecological and environmental protection, science popularization information, etc. in real time, becoming a comprehensive smart sports service facility that integrates cultural publicity, mass fitness guidance, science popularization and other functions. Relevant staff members of the Qingyang Ecological Environment Bureau said,"I hope that through the installation of smart equipment, we will further guide everyone to consciously use music and dance in a civilized manner."

As the first provincial laboratory in the country focusing on "carbon neutrality", Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory is a well-deserved "green brain", bringing together more than 60 academicians, experts and scholars in the field of carbon neutrality across the country, relying on Sichuan University, Southwest Petroleum University, Chengdu University of Technology, Sichuan Agricultural University, and other key units to jointly build it.
It is reported that the laboratory's science mainly focuses on six major research areas: clean and low-carbon energy, resource carbon neutrality, carbon capture and utilization, carbon sink and geological carbon sequestration, synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and integrated coupling of carbon neutrality, and deeply explores new national systems, through the "core + base + network" operation model, opens up the entire innovation chain of "basic research-technological research-industrial transformation" to promote the high-quality development of low-carbon industries and the green transformation of the economy and society.
At Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory, we focus on precise research on multiple key technologies in the field of carbon neutrality, and help the development of local green industries through organized scientific research into chains and clusters. "Carbon dioxide is invisible and intangible. So how to correctly measure carbon dioxide emissions during power production, transmission and use has become a key link in the low-carbon development of the power industry. It is a basic technical capability to achieve my country's dual carbon goals and an important direction for our team's research." At the New Power System Research Center of Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory, Chen Honghu, assistant engineer of the center, introduced that in response, our team proposed a real-time carbon measurement and tracking solution for power systems and developed this power energy system carbon flow analysis platform for Sichuan Province.
"The platform is mainly divided into two modules. One is a carbon tracking module, which displays the carbon emission characteristics of power generation and electricity consumption in Chengdu City and various districts (cities) and counties in real time; the other is a panoramic carbon analysis module, which is mainly used to conduct statistical analysis and visual display of historical carbon emission information of Chengdu City and Sichuan Province." Chen Honghu said that with this platform, we can intuitively understand carbon emission information in various places and provide quantitative basis, assessment methods, decision support and other services for relevant government management departments, power generation companies, power grid companies, etc.
The Carbon Dioxide Resource Utilization Research Center of Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory has "updated" a set of carbon dioxide capture performance testing experimental equipment. Carbon capture and utilization refers to the capture of carbon dioxide from industrial emissions or air and then conversion into fuels or chemical products. Allowing carbon dioxide to be utilized as resources and generate economic benefits is one of the most direct means of carbon emission reduction and a bottom-up technology to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality.
Chen Chao, senior engineer of the center, said that this device was independently designed by the center team and consists of a gas distribution and gas circulation unit, a carbon dioxide absorption unit, a desorption unit, a heat pump energy-saving unit and a pressure control unit. It can realize unmanned automatic operation. The flue gas processing capacity is 10 cubic meters per hour.
