Recently, construction of the second phase complex of the Waterworks in Taixing Economic Development Zone, an ultra-low-energy green building, started. This project not only achieved a breakthrough in ultra-low energy consumption projects in Taixing City, Jiangsu Province, but also was identified by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development as the second batch of demonstration projects for China-Switzerland zero-carbon building projects, and received special financial support for urban and rural construction and development in the province in 2024.
Ultra-low energy consumption buildings refer to buildings that adapt to climatic characteristics and natural conditions, adopt an envelope with higher thermal insulation performance and air-tightness, adopt efficient new wind-heat recovery technology to minimize building heating and cooling needs, and make full use of Renewable energy, a building that provides a comfortable indoor environment with less energy consumption and can meet the basic requirements of green buildings.
According to reports, the functions of the second phase comprehensive building project of Taixing Economic Development Zone Waterworks include exhibitions, conferences, catering and accommodation. The core concept is "zero energy consumption for building operation + low carbonization of construction method + resource utilization of water and solid waste treatment". Through building lightweight and prefabricated decoration, low-carbonization of construction methods is achieved; By adopting the sustainable concept of differentiated water supply, hierarchical collaborative treatment and local resource utilization, the source treatment and recycling of sewage are realized to achieve pollution reduction, carbon reduction, and synergy; by setting up a low-carbon comprehensive management platform, access to smart energy, environmental monitoring, carbon emission monitoring and other subsystems achieve unified management of energy and environment in the building. "The project construction design is 'tailor-made' according to Taixing's climate characteristics such as sultry summer and cold and dry winter." The relevant person in charge of the project construction unit China Construction Water said that based on the team's energy consumption simulation of heating, air conditioning, equipment, lighting and other systems during the project operation period, the project's comprehensive energy conservation rate reached 160%, effectively achieving the zero-carbon building operation goal.
The China-Switzerland Zero-Carbon Building Demonstration Project is an important international cooperation project between the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency. It aims to learn from Switzerland's accumulated experience in the field of zero-carbon buildings, help China formulate zero-carbon building technical standards and implement zero-carbon buildings Demonstration project to promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in China's construction industry.
In recent years, Taixing City has attached great importance to industrial transformation and green development, and has adhered to an energy-saving, efficient, green and low-carbon urban and rural construction development path. All new civil buildings are required to be constructed in accordance with green building standards. All projects that fail to meet the building energy conservation design review standards will be regarded as unqualified projects and will not be subject to building energy conservation acceptance and filing. For existing buildings with a wide range of areas and large quantities, energy-saving renovation or green renovation are carried out simultaneously in full combination with the renovation of old communities and urban renewal. In the next step, Taixing City will continue to implement new development concepts, promote the new industrialization, digitalization and green development of buildings, promote the continuous promotion of key green building technologies and products, and accelerate the green and high-quality development of urban and rural construction.
