Recently, with the issuance of the order to load red coke, Xinjiang Fukang City Yongxin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully loaded the first can of red coke into the 170-ton/hour dry quenching project, marking the company's efforts in energy conservation, carbon reduction and environmental protection. An important step has been taken in terms of ultra-low emissions. It is understood that this project is also the first 170-ton/hour dry quenching project in Fukang City.
"After preliminary commissioning, single-machine linkage test run, and warm air drying, we have now put into the first can of red coke and officially entered the trial production stage." Tang Haijiang, director of the dry quenching workshop of Yongxin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. in Fukang City, said that during the operation of the project, the red coke will be towed to the dry quenching furnace derrick through the electric locomotive, and then the red coke will be loaded into the dry quenching furnace through the lifting device. The red coke will be transported to the belt through the coke discharge device and sent to the coke shed.
The dry quenching project uses dry coke quenching technology and uses inert gas to cool the red coke. Dry coke quenching technology recovers waste heat from red coke, generates electricity in the form of steam and utilizes it, greatly improving energy utilization efficiency. The supporting 240 tons/hour reclaimed water reuse system reuses coking wastewater in the production of circulating water and boiler steam water systems through pretreatment, membrane concentration and other links, achieving zero emission of coking wastewater and reducing the impact on the environment. Ma Wei, general manager of Fukang City Yongxin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., said: "This project is a transformation and upgrading project for energy conservation and carbon reduction in key areas recommended by the National Development and Reform Commission. It reduces solid waste emissions and solves the problem of environmental pollution caused by the original wet coke quenching."
Construction of the dry quenching project started in August 2022, with a total investment of 250 million yuan. The construction scale is 170 tons of dry quenching and 90 tons of waste heat boilers per hour. A supporting 20 (megawatt)-watt generator set and an hourly processing capacity of 240 tons of sewage zero emission project. Ma Wei said: "After the dry quenching project is put into operation, the annual power generation can reach 170 million kilowatts per hour, which can save 15,000 kilocalories, save 1.7 million tons of water, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 85,000 tons per year."
In recent years, while basing itself on development, Fukang City Yongxin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. has taken the initiative to shut down two 4.3-meter coke ovens with backward production capacity and increased the upgrading and transformation of original environmental protection equipment. It has invested 160 million yuan in the construction and renovation of coke oven flue gas, chemical VOCs, material greenhouses, etc.
Meng Fantao, director of the Fukang City Branch of the Changji Prefecture Ecological Environment Bureau, said: "We will continue to guide enterprises to actively apply for funds for environmental protection projects, guide enterprises to use them rationally, and help high-energy-consuming, high-emission and high-pollution enterprises complete ultra-low emission transformation through precise policies. We will continue to assist and visit enterprises to understand the difficult issues of enterprises in the emission reduction process and transformation process, and ensure that the battle against air pollution from 2024 to 2025 has achieved phased results."
