In the Xuzhou Road Clean Energy Heating Station, staff are checking winter operation records and repairing and maintaining equipment to ensure that the heating system reaches a safe and stable operation state.

"This clean energy heating station uses geothermal energy as the heat source and adopts sandstone geological negative pressure recharge technology, which can achieve 'equal recharge in the same layer, extracting heat without consuming water'." Li Jiwu, general manager of Dongying Minghui New Energy Co., Ltd., told reporters that the reason for building an energy station on Xuzhou Road is because the geothermal water temperature here can reach 70 ° C and the water volume reaches 80 cubic meters per hour, which can provide clean heating in winter. Stable and reliable conditions.

In fact, this used to be a coal-fired boiler room, with four coal-fired boilers providing heat source. It consumes about 15,900 tons of standard coal every year and emits 43,300 tons of carbon dioxide.

In 2023, Dongying City will actively promote the development and utilization of geothermal resources. Xuzhou Road Energy Heating Station, as one of the 22 geothermal energy stations in the development zone, has become the first batch of geothermal heating pilot projects."We have demolished the original boilers and supporting equipment and built 10 pairs of mid-deep geothermal wells to replace traditional fossil energy with geothermal clean energy." Li Jiwu said.

Dongying City is rich in geothermal resources. The total proven geothermal resources in the middle and deep layers are 376 trillion gigajoules, equivalent to 12.8 billion tons of standard coal. The conditions for development and utilization are mature and the development potential is huge.

It is understood that the development zone will implement the geothermal energy transformation project in three years and plans to build 22 geothermal energy stations. The geothermal heating capacity is expected to reach 14.8 million square meters, realizing the full replacement of geothermal energy clean heating in the district. It is expected to build a demonstration project with the largest single heating area and the largest carbon emission reduction in Shandong Province. After the project is fully completed, it is expected to reduce standard coal consumption by 220,000 tons, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 550,000 tons every year, and achieve carbon sink income by 20 million yuan.

"In 2023, 1 million square meters of alternative heating area have been completed. Judging from the operation conditions and user feedback, the room temperature in residents 'homes remains above 23 ° C." Li Jiwu introduced.

In order to ensure a warm winter for residents, the geothermal energy station has also built a "warm home" smart heating management platform. The platform can automatically allocate the production and operation of energy stations, heating networks, heating stations and other facilities in real time based on load changes such as weather conditions, user needs, and pipe network failures, so as to scientifically reduce heating energy consumption and ensure heating quality.

At present, the development and utilization of geothermal energy in Dongying City has achieved an annual equivalent of 280,000 tons of coal combustion, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 668,000 tons and sulfur dioxide by 4760 tons, effectively ensuring the orderly advancement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
