Qinghai Mardang Hydropower Station Unit 3 connected to the grid for power generation

Xinhua Agency, Xining, September 30 (Reporter Xie Tongqiang) The reporter learned from the National Energy Group Qinghai Mardang Hydropower Station that Unit 3 of Qinghai Mardang Hydropower Station was successfully connected to the grid on September 29, and all performances of the unit met the conditions for long-term safe and stable operation.

It is understood that Ma 'erdang Hydropower Station is the hydropower station with the highest altitude and largest installed capacity under construction in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. Ma 'erdang Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Yellow River at the junction of Tongde County in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Maqin County in Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province. The average altitude of the area is 3300 meters, and the total installed capacity of the power station is 2.32 million kilowatts. It is planned to put all units into operation by the end of December.

After the power station is fully put into operation, the average annual power generation will reach 7.304 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the normal electricity needs of 1.825 million households with an annual electricity consumption of 4000 kWh, equivalent to saving about 2.2 million tons of standard coal every year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. About 8.16 million tons will provide strong support for promoting the large-scale development and application of new energy in Qinghai Province and building a clean energy base in the upper reaches of the Yellow River.
