Ministry of Ecology and Environment: "Opinions on Giving Full Play to the Role of Green Finance to Serve the Construction of Beautiful China" was issued

On October 22, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held a regular press conference in October. Pei Xiaofei, spokesperson of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, together with the People's Bank of China, the State Administration of Financial Supervision, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission, jointly issued the "Opinions on Giving Full Play to the Role of Green Finance to Serve the Construction of Beautiful China", focusing on increasing support in key areas, improving professional service capabilities of green finance, enriching green financial products and services, and strengthening implementation guarantees. Key measures are proposed in four aspects.

The "Opinions" focus on the actual needs of the construction of Beautiful China, and build a beautiful China construction project library around key areas such as the construction of Beautiful China pioneer areas, green and low-carbon development of key industries, in-depth promotion of pollution prevention and control, and ecological protection and restoration to effectively improve the accuracy of financial support. The "Opinion" emphasizes that we will continue to increase green credit, develop green financial products such as green bonds and green asset securitization, and strengthen green financing support. Focus on regional ecological and environmental protection projects, carbon markets, resource and environmental factors, and ecological and environment-oriented development (EOD) Projects, diversified climate investment and financing, green consumption and other key links and areas, and increase innovation in green financial products.

In the next step, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will strengthen coordination and cooperation with the financial management department, continue to do a good job in green finance, and fully serve and support the construction of a beautiful China.
