The Anhui Province Development and Reform Commission recently approved the construction of the Jixi Jiapeng Pumped Storage Power Station project. After its completion, the power station will mainly undertake tasks such as peak shaving, valley filling, and energy storage of East China Power Grid. This marks that Jixi County is accelerating its efforts to build a green energy storage base in the Yangtze River Delta around pumped storage.

It is reported that the efficient promotion of Jiapeng Pumped Storage Power Station has been included in the "Medium and Long-term Development Plan for Pumped Storage Power (2021-2035)" key implementation projects in the "14th Five-Year Plan". The power station is located in Jixi County, Xuancheng City, with an installed capacity of 14 million kilowatts. Four reversible hydro-generator units with a single unit capacity of 350MW are installed. After it starts and is completed, this power station is expected to save 270,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 540,000 tons every year.

In order to promote the green and sustainable development of Jixi County, Jixi County is further planning the construction of the Shangzhuang Pumped Storage Power Station project. At present, the preliminary site selection of the Shangzhuang Pumped Storage Power Station has been completed and included in a new round of new station sites across the province, which will inject new impetus into further promoting Jixi County to build a green energy storage base in the Yangtze River Delta and realize low-carbon energy transformation.
