CCER project emission reduction application officially accepted

On August 23, the National Center for Strategic Research and International Cooperation on Climate Change issued the "Announcement on Accepting Voluntary Emission Reduction Projects and Emission Reduction Applications"(hereinafter referred to as the "Announcement").

The "Announcement" states that starting from the date of release of the announcement, relevant applications will be formally accepted, and the project owner and the greenhouse gas voluntary emission reduction project approval and emission reduction verification agency approved by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration Commission will be requested to log in to the national greenhouse gas voluntary emission reduction registration system and information platform to apply for online account opening and project registration (visit address: https://ccer.cets.org.cn/).

According to the relevant provisions of the "Measures for the Management of Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Trading (Trial)" and the "Notice on Arrangements for Related Work Matters in the National Greenhouse Gas Voluntary Emission Reduction Trading Market" issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in October 2023, greenhouse gases are voluntary nationwide. Before the registration agency is formally established, the National Climate Strategy Center will undertake the registration and cancellation of voluntary emission reduction projects and emission reductions.
