On July 30, the distributed photovoltaic power generation project of the Huangjiahu Sewage Treatment Plant located in Hongshan District, Wuhan City, a subsidiary of Wuhan Holding Company of Wuhan City Urban Investment Group, was officially connected to the grid. It is expected to meet 27% of the plant's electricity demand, turning the sewage treatment plant, which has traditionally been regarded as a "large electricity consumer", into a producer and beneficiary of green energy.

Synergistic efficiency of pollution reduction and carbon reduction

The Huangjiahu Sewage Treatment Plant is located east of Fengsheng Road and south of Baisha No. 5 Road in Hongshan District. Rows of huge silver steel arms in the plant hold photovoltaic panels high to the sky. These photovoltaic panels are laid over the secondary sedimentation tank, forming a vast photovoltaic power farm. According to the person in charge of the project, photovoltaic panels cover an area of about 51,000 square meters. They adopt the "spontaneous self-use, surplus electricity online" model to give priority to the supply of electricity for production and life in the factory, effectively reducing the electricity cost for sewage treatment.

Thanks to the vast area of the plant and sufficient light resources, photovoltaic power generation not only improves energy utilization efficiency, but also effectively inhibits the growth of green algae in the pool and reduces the number of cleanups. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to provide approximately 7.239 million kilowatt-hours of green and clean electricity every year, equivalent to saving 2606 tons of coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6723 tons, significantly achieving the dual effects of pollution reduction and carbon reduction.

Bidirectional operation of electricity consumption and power generation

Sewage treatment plants have always been large consumers of electricity, and how to transform them into "power generation masters" is an important issue facing Wuhan Holding Company. After the photovoltaic project of Beihu Sewage Treatment Plant was successfully put into operation, the company has accumulated rich experience and laid a solid foundation for green industry upgrading and independent innovation and development.

The project is more adapted to local conditions, and its design plan is also unique. The photovoltaic-related electrical equipment is installed in prefabricated cabins outside the power distribution room of the sewage plant. The relevant electrical systems are independent of the electrical systems of the water plant to avoid mutual interference and influence; a double-row component vertical layout scheme is adopted to improve the photovoltaic panels. The number of installations has increased the total power generation by 5%.

In view of the characteristics of cable structures that are prone to vibration, the project adopts the design concept of "rigid and flexible bearing" and builds a bearing system of "rigid component purlin as a whole and flexible cable structure support". It innovatively installs rigid purlin on flexible steel cables and fixes the components on the purlin, reducing the risk of component cracking caused by excessive stress on the frame; The underground pipelines of the sewage plant are dense and the structures are in different forms. This project integrates the characteristics of existing structures and adopts multiple infrastructure structure types, which can effectively avoid positional conflicts between the photovoltaic support foundation and underground pipelines, ponds and other facilities.
