The World Bank provided a $750 million climate change loan to Colombia

Chinanews.comBEIJING, April 2 (Reuters) - The World Bank has approved a $750 million loan to Colombia to help the country be more resilient in the face of climate change by promoting renewable energy development and reducing carbon emissions, Reuters reported.

The loan aims to promote the development of solar, offshore wind and green hydrogen energy, as well as support urban e-mobility and multimodal transport, the bank said in a statement.

The statement said that it is important for Colombia to transition to a more resilient economy, achieve low carbon emissions and focus on the sustainable management of natural resources.

This is the second loan from the World Bank to Colombia, following a $1 billion loan in December 2022, the report said.
