From September 12 to 16, the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (hereinafter referred to as the Fair) with the theme of "Global Services, Mutual Benefit and Sharing" will be held at the National Convention Center and Shougang Park. The reporter learned at the media briefing on the countdown series of promotional activities held yesterday that the environmental services special exhibition in this year's Service Trade Fair will be unveiled at the newly renovated Shougang No. 4 Blast Furnace, continuing to deepen the dual carbon theme and bringing together Many Chinese and foreign companies showcase the latest achievements and technological applications in the field of global environmental services in an all-round and multi-field manner.

The fourth blast furnace that was suspended in 2008 was transformed into the exhibition complex of Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center this year, becoming a new highlight in the sustainable use of industrial heritage serving the city's exhibition functions.

"The overall renovation process of the fourth blast furnace fully follows the principles of sustainable green and low-carbon. For example, an area of 1000 m2 has been reserved at the top of the blast furnace to facilitate the installation of photovoltaic power generation panels in the later stage, and the large screen on the south side of the blast furnace also adopts low power consumption., energy-efficient display technology, while focusing on the recyclability of large screens, achieving resource recycling, etc. The application of these green and low-carbon technologies has also allowed this exhibition hall to be preserved as a permanent venue and become a living room in the western Beijing city integrating exhibitions and conferences." In addition, a rainwater storage tank with an effective volume of 882 m3 has been built underground in the southwest corner of the renovated Convention and Exhibition Center. The collected rainwater will be filtered and disinfected and reused for greening and watering in the CIFTIS area, reducing the drainage system. While pressure, the risk of waterlogging is reduced, and economic benefits and green environmental protection social benefits are exerted. At the same time, the entire exhibition hall is also designed for low energy consumption throughout the life cycle. The cooperation of different units can enable the venue to operate efficiently under different needs such as full load and extremely low load, reducing energy waste.

This year's Service Trade Fair will highlight new productivity, open cooperation, trading functions and convenience of exhibition. Currently, 72 countries and international organizations have decided to participate offline in the name of national governments or headquarters. Among them, the environmental service special exhibition is planned to include green energy, carbon neutral technology, circular economy and other exhibition areas. Promotion and negotiations will be held around hot topics such as carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, green and low-carbon development, dual carbon enabling industry development, carbon trading, and green transformation.

"During the trade fair, the 'Zero Carbon Service Trade 2.0' action will also be carried out, and the 'Plastic Reduction and Carbon Reduction' check-in activity will be launched. Visitors will be invited to carry out PET recycling and reuse, and waste materials will be used to make souvenirs of the trade fair on site to implement the 'Zero Plastic Service Trade' concept."
