The country's first cross-provincial blue carbon ecological carbon account was released

The country's first cross-provincial blue carbon ecological carbon account was recently released in Xiangshan County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, and 422.5 tons of blue carbon ecological value products subscribed by an enterprise in Xiangshan County were deposited into the blue carbon ecological carbon account of Xiangshan County, realizing the first "blue carbon + property rights + justice" transaction in Zhejiang Province.

It is understood that blue carbon is the process, activity and mechanism that uses ocean activities and marine organisms to absorb carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, fix and store it in the ocean. The blue carbon ecological carbon account of Xiangshan County is jointly established by Xiangshan County, Ningbo Property Rights Trading Center and Xiamen Property Rights Trading Center, integrating the supply and demand resources of the blue carbon market in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province and Xiamen City, Fujian Province, aiming to serve the closed-loop management of blue carbon ecological product development, registration, trading, verification and application, and further improve the value realization mechanism of ecological products. According to the relevant person in charge of the Xiangshan County Development and Reform Bureau, the account will also be aimed at export-oriented enterprises, listed companies, factory parks, financial institutions, large-scale activities and other embedded diversified dual-carbon application scenarios, and develop carbon inclusive projects, marine product carbon footprints, blue carbon data products and other ecological product value realization models, so that the "soft assets" of marine carbon sinks can be transformed into "hard benefits" of the marine economy.
