Maoming Petrochemical builds carbon footprint database for refining and chemical products

Sinochem New Network News Recently, China Petrochemical's carbon asset management system promotion and improvement project-Maoming Petrochemical's carbon footprint implementation project was put into use, including a carbon footprint database for 47 refining and chemical products, realizing the visualization of carbon emissions in all aspects of the production process, providing data support for export of related products and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

In November 2023, Maoming Petrochemical formed a research team, relying on the carbon footprint methodology and calculation experience of the team of the Academy of Petroleum Sciences and the Energy Conservation Service Company, and the Petrochemical Yingke Carbon Emission Management Platform to build the project on the Petrochemical Zhiyun Industrial Internet Platform. Through model adjustment, process verification, data verification, algorithm comparison and other means, the research team built 318 device models, 1921 material models, 673 material movement models, 104 energy device models, 454 energy activity models, and 155 Improve the carbon emission infrastructure model, form two production carbon footprint process general plans, and control the deviation of carbon footprint calculation results to about 1%. In the next step, Maoming Petrochemical will deepen system application and continue to polish carbon footprint reports, carbon labeling and other functions to help green and low-carbon production.
