On September 12, the Global Green Economy Development Forum was held at the Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center. As one of the 13 high-end theme forums held at the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (hereinafter referred to as the Fair), the Global Green Economy Development Forum is also the first theme forum of this Fair.

Climate trade is a major hot spot at the forefront of the global "trade in services" field. "Climate and environmental issues are increasingly inseparable from economic trade. Green competitiveness characterized by green and low-carbon levels is reshaping global industrial chains, supply chains and international trade rules." In the speech session, Sha Zukang, former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Honorary Chairman of the International Green Economy Association, said that building a globally competitive green industrial chain and supply chain has become an important measure to deal with climate trade.

The forum pointed out that the international community urgently needs to establish and improve a new sustainable mechanism that integrates "climate action" and "international trade", and further promote the establishment of "producers" on the basis of the "principle of common but differentiated responsibilities" and "climate justice transformation". The carbon emission responsibility mechanism of shared responsibilities between people and consumers will more effectively encourage global industrial chains and supply chains to jointly reduce emissions, and help the stable development of global supply chains and win-win cooperation. Achieving climate goals and sustainable prosperity in international trade.

Chinese and foreign guests used keynote reports, special speeches and other forms to discuss in depth the coordinated and integrated development of "climate action, international trade and green economy", and jointly sought strategies and paths to promote green, sustainable and high-quality development of the global economy. In addition, two international cooperation results implemented in Beijing were signed at the forum, and the launch ceremony of the "Industrial Net Zero Transformation and Climate Cohesion Partnership Initiative" and the "Carbon Neutralization Supply Chain Leader Action" were held at the same time.

It is understood that the Global Green Economy Development Forum is a high-end brand conference focusing on climate change and green economy development. It is led by the International Green Economy Association of Chaoyang District, Beijing City, and co-sponsored by the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Beijing, China), China Sustainable Development Research Association, Rocky Mountain Research Institute, and Capital Convention and Exhibition Group. A total of about 400 people attended the conference, including international representatives from the United Nations system, the European Union, the United States, Germany, and Brazil, as well as experts and entrepreneurs from various industries in China.
