The conversion of abandoned brick factories into new energy projects is a typical case of ecological restoration in Long Town, Wudalianchi City, Heilongjiang Province. Heihe City is located in the key metallogenic belt of the Greater and Small Xing 'an Mountains, and a total of 95 mineral types have been discovered in the city. In the long-term process of mineral resources development, 313 historical mine maps have been formed, covering an area of 8,340.87 hectares, of which 7,742.21 hectares have been over-mined by placer gold. After long-term mining, problems such as the many types of mines left over from history, the difficulty of ecological restoration and management, and the large area of mines left over from history have emerged. Heihe City adheres to the two-way efforts of protection and restoration, explores diversified financing channels for mine ecological restoration, and continues to promote the ecological restoration and transformation and utilization of historical mines. The Natural Resources Bureau of Heihe City continues to deepen the construction of capabilities and work style, adopting various methods such as "natural restoration, market-oriented ecological restoration and governance reuse, ecological restoration + industrial projects", and has achieved remarkable results in the ecological restoration of mines left over from history.
Heilongjiang Duobaoshan Copper Co., Ltd., located in Duobaoshan Town, Nenjiang City, has always been committed to the construction of green mines and has been included in the national green mines list. Since 2016, a total of more than 50 million yuan has been invested in ecological greening construction in the Kuangqu. As of August this year, the total greening area reached more than 2.295 million square meters, with a total of more than 556,000 flowers and trees planted, and a total of more than 900,000 square meters of soil covered area.
The Natural Resources Bureau of Heihe City sent staff to counties (cities, districts) to strengthen guidance, carried out surveys on the current situation of placer gold over-mining areas in Aihui District and Nenjiang City, and completed natural restoration and ecological restoration area of 2,356.31 hectares. Since its launch in 2023, the total area of restoration and management of historical mines that have passed verification and acceptance in Heihe City is 2,459.70 hectares. Currently, about 800 hectares of ecological restoration are being carried out. It is expected to be completed before the end of September, and a total of about 3200 hectares will be completed. By then, Heihe City will advance and exceed the target tasks of ecological restoration and management of historical mines by 2025.
