Looking back on the development process of Zhejiang Zhongxin, there are mainly the following highlights:
1. Raw material innovation: zero emission of main raw materials
The plant fiber plastic industry originated in the United States, and the domestic started around 2000, and the main raw material is wood pulp.
Since 2015 (the company's predecessor was Jinhua Zhongsheng Fiber), a large number of sugarcane bagasse pulp from Guangxi has been used to manufacture disposable tableware products, and the product concept of "waste utilization, circular economy, and zero emission of raw materials" has been vigorously promoted in the world, which is welcomed by consumer goods.
Bagasse is the waste of the domestic Guangxi sugar mill, and the pulp produced with bagasse as raw material has zero emission when calculating the carbon footprint, so Zhongxin's products have zero emission in the raw material.
Since 2015, Zhongxin Group has purchased more than 250,000 tons of bagasse pulp, which is equivalent to reducing the felling of 6.25 million adult trees for the earth, and about 156,000 acres of virgin forest has been protected according to 40 trees in one acre of primeval forest, and one acre of forest can absorb 67 kg of carbon dioxide per day, which is equivalent to absorbing 10,452 tons of carbon dioxide for the earth every year.
Second, the main energy consumption mode is zero emissions
At present, domestic and foreign enterprises in this industry generally use natural gas boilers for heating, although clean, but still fossil energy, carbon emissions are inevitable.
In order to reduce the carbon emissions of fuel, Zhejiang Zhongxin decided to abandon the natural gas boiler with little investment and use a biomass boiler with a huge investment in order to reduce the carbon emissions of the fuel.
The raw materials of biomass boilers are industrial and agricultural waste, such as sugarcane leaves, straw, scraps from furniture factories, bark from wood processing plants, and so on. Even if they are not burned, they will emit the same amount of carbon dioxide as they slowly decay. That's why governments around the world are looking at biomass fuels as a zero-emission energy source.
Due to the high requirements of environmental protection and dust removal, the biomass boiler has a huge investment, which is generally more than 10 times that of a natural gas boiler of the same size.
Zhejiang Zhongxin has three production plants, all of which use biomass boilers, which can not only help the local government solve the headache of crop waste, but also win the favor of European and American customers due to zero fuel emissions in the sales process of our products.
Since 2015, Zhejiang Zhongxin has purchased more than 500,000 tons of various biomass fuels, which is equivalent to reducing the burning of 120,000 tons of standard coal, and the cumulative reduction of carbon dioxide emissions is 240,000 tons based on the emission of 2 tons of carbon dioxide per ton of standard coal.
Third, develop clean and new energy according to local conditions
In 2022, in order to further respond to the country's dual carbon strategy, Zhejiang Zhongxin decided to install solar photovoltaic power generation on the roof of a total of 120,000 square meters of factory buildings, and has completed a 30,000-square-meter photovoltaic project (3 megawatts).
Fourth, the production line is improved to achieve energy saving and consumption reduction
Through technological innovation, the production line is transformed, the production efficiency is improved, and the unit energy consumption is reduced.
At present, the unit power consumption of Zhejiang Zhongxin is 1000 kWh/ton of products, which is more than 20% lower than the average unit power consumption of the same industry in China.
Fifth, reduce carbon emissions in the process of product transportation through technical means
By improving product design and tooling, the stacking height of the product is reduced, thereby reducing the box size of the product. Taking the 9-inch disc as an example, the domestic peer enterprises, a 40-meter HQ container, generally loaded with about 15 tons of 9-inch discs, Zhejiang Zhongxin's improved 9-inch disc can be loaded with 20 tons, which can reduce the transportation cost for customers at the same time, but also reduce the fuel cost of the means of transportation, and indirectly achieve the effect of reducing carbon emissions.
