Qinghai: Strengthen capacity building and promote compliance in the national carbon market

Recently, the Qinghai Province Department of Ecology and Environment held a training course for Qinghai Province to participate in the national carbon market data quality improvement and industry capacity building expansion. The main task is to improve the quality of carbon emission report data of enterprises in the power generation, electrolytic aluminum, cement, and steel industries participating in the national carbon emissions trading market, and effectively improve the carbon emission management level of key management enterprises and the carbon emission supervision capabilities of municipal and state ecological environment departments.

The training class invited experts from the Climate Strategy Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Carbon Emissions Registration Agency, China Building Federation, China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and related institutions to give lectures, focusing on the construction process of the national carbon market and related policies, the construction progress of the voluntary emission reduction trading market and quota offset mechanism, the total quota and allocation plan of the power generation industry, and arranged cement, Basic information of the electrolytic aluminum industry and interpretation of accounting reports and verification technical guidelines.

The training is rich in content, prominent in focus, and has strong pertinence, applicability and operability. It will further improve the standardization level of data quality management in the carbon market in Qinghai Province, promote the performance of the province's carbon market, and complete the national carbon market with high quality.
