In the first half of the year, the country added 128 million kilowatts of grid-connected wind power and solar power generation installed capacity;

The installed capacity of new energy power generation accounted for 38.4% of the total installed capacity, exceeding that of coal power for the first time;

Investment in non-fossil energy power generation accounts for 85% of power supply investment...

Observing the "efficiency" of China's economic development transformation and the "quality" of development, green and low-carbon energy development is a crucial part. At present, the construction of my country's clean energy system is accelerating, energy conservation and carbon reduction in key areas are advancing in an orderly manner, and green production methods and lifestyles are gradually taking shape.

From the perspective of production, clean energy production maintained rapid growth. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in the first half of the year, the total output of industrial hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, and solar power generation above designated size increased by 13.4% year-on-year, accounting for 27.6% of total power generation, an increase of 0.1 percentage points over the same period last year.

From the perspective of consumers, as the concept of green and low-carbon development is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the proportion of clean energy consumption has increased significantly. Preliminary estimates show that the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption in total energy consumption in the first half of the year increased by 1.9 percentage points year-on-year.

"The effect of the state's policy to support non-fossil energy development has gradually emerged. New energy consumption has grown rapidly, and the energy use structure has continued to improve." Hu Hanzhou, director of the Energy Statistics Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, said that my country's energy green and clean background has been further highlighted.

From the perspective of industrial development, my country has built the world's largest, most complete and most competitive clean energy industry chain, and the industrial transformation to "green" has become more obvious.

In the first half of the year, the output of new energy vehicles increased by 34.3% year-on-year, and the output of supporting products charging piles and lithium ion power batteries for automobiles increased by 25.4% and 16.5% respectively. The photovoltaic industry chain is growing well. The output of polycrystalline silicon, monocrystalline silicon, and ultra-white glass for the solar industry, the main raw materials, increased by 55.4%, 43.6%, and 42.8% respectively year-on-year.

Over the years, the "green content" of my country's economic development has continued to increase, making high-quality development more effective. 2013-2023 In 2001, my country supported an average annual economic growth of 6.1% with an average annual energy consumption growth rate of 3.3%, and its energy consumption intensity dropped by 26.1%. It is one of the countries with the fastest reduction in energy consumption intensity in the world, exceeding its commitment to the international community. The carbon emission intensity reduction target promised by the community.

The research and development and application of new clean energy technologies not only promote China's own high-quality development, but also make important contributions to global energy transformation and sustainable development.

So far, China's wind power and photovoltaic products have been exported to more than 200 countries and regions around the world, helping developing countries obtain clean, reliable and affordable energy. The International Renewable Energy Agency reported that in the past 10 years, the average electricity costs of global wind power and photovoltaic power generation projects have dropped by more than 60% and 80% respectively, a large part of which is attributed to Chinese innovation, Made in China, and Chinese engineering.

"The decline in China's energy consumption intensity reflects the internal energy green and low-carbon transformation process. As a participant, contributor and leader in the construction of global ecological civilization, China's transformation from 'new' to 'green'is not only conducive to its own high-quality development, but also makes positive contributions to global energy transformation and sustainable development." said Chen Shiyi, distinguished professor at Fudan University and the Center for Sustainable Development Research at Fudan University.
