Shenzhen launches "Silk Road Green Label" project

The "Silk Road Green Label" project led by the Shenzhen Ecological Environment Bureau of Guangdong Province was officially launched at the 2024 Carbon Peak Carbon Neutralization Forum and the Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum Carbon Trading Forum.

It is understood that the original intention of launching the "Silk Road Green Label" project is to implement the national "double carbon" strategy, improve the construction of a standard system for addressing climate change, strengthen international cooperation and promotion, and promote the connection of green rules. In recent years, countries have competed for the lead in the global response to climate change and the right to formulate international trade rules, and built climate trade barriers, which has had a profound impact on Shenzhen enterprises to "go global". As an important export-oriented economic city in the country, Shenzhen has actively taken countermeasures and done a lot of solid work and practice in carbon finance, green industry identification, product carbon footprint certification, etc.

On this basis, the "Silk Road Green Label" project will comprehensively sort out and conduct in-depth research on current domestic and foreign core economic and trade rules in the fields of climate change, environmental friendliness, circular economy and sustainable development, and form a green standard library to provide green and low-carbon industries. Provide support for transformation. At the same time, the project will unite relevant domestic and foreign departments, industry leading enterprises, international organizations, scientific research institutes and technical institutions and other parties to establish a domestically applicable and internationally widely recognized green logo certification management system to help enhance the green competitiveness of enterprises. This project will also promote mutual recognition based on the actual situation of countries co-building the Belt and Road Initiative, create international demonstration projects, promote the international connection of green rules, and contribute Shenzhen's plan to the construction of the green "Belt and Road" rule system.
