Eight departments including the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission and the General Office of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently issued a notice on organizing and recommending green technologies. In order to accelerate the promotion and application of advanced green technologies, the National Development and Reform Commission will work with relevant departments to organize the "Green Technology Promotion Catalog (2024 Edition)"(hereinafter referred to as the "Promotion Catalog")Selection and release work.

According to the requirements of the notice, this recommended technology should be relevant technologies in the fields of energy conservation and carbon reduction industries, environmental protection industries, resource recycling industries, energy green and low-carbon transformation, ecological protection, restoration and utilization, and green infrastructure upgrading. The recommended technology should have significant energy conservation, carbon reduction, environmental protection, and efficient resource utilization effects, be able to effectively improve the green level of relevant industries, be advanced, leading and demonstrative in the industry, and have good promotion value and application prospects; It should be mature and reliable, have good economic applicability, and have at least 2 application examples in China and have been used for more than 1 year. The recommendation process includes voluntary application, preliminary review and recommendation, review and release.

For the green technologies included in the Promotion Catalog, the National Development and Reform Commission will work with relevant departments to organize and carry out technology roadshows and other activities in conjunction with the National Ecology Day, National Energy Conservation Publicity Week, National Low Carbon Day, Environment Day, etc. to increase publicity and promotion efforts. Encourage relevant departments, industry associations and central enterprises to actively promote the promotion and application of green technologies in the Promotion Catalog. Give full play to the role of platforms such as the National Green Technology Trading Center, organize and carry out green technology achievement promotion activities such as "green technology service enterprises", and promote the transformation and industrialization of green technology achievements. Investment within the central budget will actively support qualified projects that apply green technologies in the Promotion Catalog for upgrading and transformation. Financial institutions are encouraged to strengthen financing support for green technologies in the Promotion Catalog through green credit, green bonds, carbon emission reduction support tools, etc.
