Xiangyang High-tech Zone Pollution and Carbon Reduction Collaborative Innovation Summit held
The Xiangyang High-tech Zone Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction Collaborative Innovation Summit was held recently with the theme of "Green Action, Future Intelligence, and a New Chapter in Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction".
Wang Xinhua, Director of the Comprehensive Department of the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Lu Lianhong, Chief Engineer of the Environmental Management Research Center of the China Academy of Environmental Sciences, Xiong Hui, member of the Party Working Committee of the High-tech Zone and deputy director of the Management Committee, Chen Zhibin, a second-level researcher of the Comprehensive Department of the Hubei Province Department of Ecology and Environment, Ouyang Wenhuan, a fourth-level researcher of the Xiangyang City Ecological Environment Bureau, He Gang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the High-tech Branch of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, and representatives of various outstanding enterprises attended the summit. The event issued invitations to 18 companies for the "Carbon Reduction Pioneers" action, inviting companies to join the "Carbon Reduction Pioneers" action and jointly contribute to pollution reduction and carbon reduction.
In December 2023, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued a list of the first batch of collaborative innovation pilots for pollution reduction and carbon reduction in cities and industrial parks. The High-tech Zone became the only industrial park in Hubei Province to be included in the first batch of pilots, and became the vanguard in implementing the "Hubei Province's Collaborative Implementation Plan for Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction." Since the launch of the pilot work, a series of results such as implementation plans, task lists, and integration lists have been released, which have provided valuable experience and reference for other cities and industrial parks in our province to promote collaborative innovation work in pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and have been obtained by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the province. The Department of Ecology and Environment fully affirmed. Today, the green transformation, upgrading and development momentum of enterprises in the High-tech Zone is strong, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles are developing rapidly, a large number of high-end, intelligent and green projects are under full construction, and the energy conservation and environmental protection industry has taken shape. It has successively established cleaner production audit innovation pilots, provincial-level new industrialized industry demonstrations, and national-level "waste-free city" construction pilots, etc., further promoted the simultaneous development of the four modernizations based on comprehensive river basin management, and actively carried out coordination between air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Innovative pilots such as regional collaboration in ecological and environmental governance have achieved good results.
Focusing on the three main industries of battery, automobile, and pharmaceutical industry in the High-tech Zone, this conference carried out in-depth industry exchanges on "carbon" search for new ways, pollution reduction and efficiency improvement, and enterprise development strategies. Experts were invited to "sit on the clinic" and discuss with enterprises the development strategy of "reducing pollution and reducing carbon". Lu Lianhong, chief engineer of the Environmental Management Research Center of China Academy of Environmental Sciences, shared his experience and views on how companies can achieve the "double carbon" goal. Liao Qi, director of the Institute of Environmental Economics and Policy, explained the quality supervision and management of carbon emission data in Hubei Province and typical cases. Ma Hongwei, manager of the Enterprise Butler Division of Hubei Junbang Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., shared the carbon emission characteristics and transformation thoughts of the automobile industry chain. Chu Jun, general manager of the business department of Industrial Bank Xiangyang Branch, introduced green and low-carbon financial policies and products. Based on the actual development, participating companies raised green development puzzles, and experts answered questions on site.
Wang Xinhua expressed the hope that during the pilot process, the High-tech Zone will transform its leading advantage into a leading advantage, continuously explore coordinated implementation paths for pollution reduction and carbon reduction, make every effort to improve and consolidate the effectiveness of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and form a nationwide and provincial-wide replicable "Xiangyang Experience" of collaborative pollution reduction and carbon reduction.
