The Shanghai Carbon Inclusive Management and Operation Platform is expected to be officially launched in the second half of the year
On the morning of April 17, Yan Bo, director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, revealed that the Shanghai carbon inclusive management and operation platform is being developed and is expected to be officially launched in the second half of this year. Through the establishment of individual carbon accounts and institutional carbon accounts, the carbon data formed in different emission reduction scenarios will be gathered together through the blockchain to achieve "one-click query" of carbon reduction behaviors.
According to reports, many green and low-carbon behaviors have been practiced in the daily life of citizens, but there is a lack of a scientific evaluation system and a closed-loop incentive mechanism. To fill the gap in this area, last year, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued the Shanghai Carbon Inclusive Management Measures (Trial). In order to ensure the authenticity, uniqueness and traceability of carbon reduction behaviors, in March this year, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment has officially released six carbon inclusive methodologies in the fields of green travel and low-carbon electricity consumption, and is currently stepping up the development of corresponding rail transit, ground buses, Internet rental bicycles, pure electric passenger cars 4 green travel and residents low-carbon electricity, distributed photovoltaic power generation 2 energy-saving and carbon-reducing carbon inclusive emission reduction scenarios and projects. At the same time, Shanghai is openly soliciting carbon inclusive methodologies from the whole society, hoping to explore more carbon inclusive application scenarios in all walks of life.
Yan Bo revealed that at present, the Shanghai Carbon Inclusive Points Mall is in full swing under construction, and in the future, citizens can exchange points for their favorite goods in the Carbon Inclusive Points Mall. For example, redeem green travel vouchers, online celebrity restaurant discount coupons, movie coupons, large-scale event quotas, etc. At the same time, all kinds of entities are welcome to actively settle in. Eligible carbon emission reductions can be traded in the Shanghai ETS, and companies that cause damage to the ecological environment can use carbon inclusion as a way to compensate for ecological damages. For example, when holding large-scale events such as performances, events, conferences, exhibitions, and festivals, organizers can use carbon inclusive emission reductions to achieve carbon neutrality for large-scale events, and carbon emissions generated by enterprises in their daily production and operation activities can also be offset by purchasing carbon inclusive emission reductions.
Yan Bo also proposed that citizens can actively participate in the mechanism of carbon inclusion, experience the atmosphere of "low-carbon for all, enjoy inclusiveness" in an all-round way, and create a new trend of green production and life.
