After the project is produced at full capacity, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by approximately 485,000 tons per year.

It is reported that among the projects that have been put into operation in the world, only the electrolytic cell scale of the Kuqa Green Hydrogen Project in Xinjiang has reached 260MW.

The green hydrogen produced by this project is supplied nearby to Sinopec Tahe Refining and Chemical Company, completely replacing existing natural gas fossil energy for hydrogen production, creating a new development path for green hydrogen refining and chemical, providing a demonstration for the industrial application of green hydrogen in my country, and providing a large scale for refining and chemical enterprises. The use of green hydrogen to achieve carbon emission reduction has a major demonstration effect and promotes the transformation and upgrading of my country's energy industry. In March 2024, the project was successfully selected into the list of industrial Internet pilot demonstration projects in 2023 released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The first independently developed megawatt PEM electrolyzed water hydrogen production device was put into operation at Yanshan Petrochemical. The "West-to-East Hydrogen Transmission" pipeline was incorporated into the national plan, and it took the lead in establishing an Expert Advisory Committee for the construction of the hydrogen energy industry chain. The entire hydrogen energy industry chain covering "production, transportation and application research" has been established to help the rapid development and renewal of the domestic hydrogen production equipment industry. In terms of hydrogen energy transportation, Sinopec has actively explored hydrogen energy transportation corridors, and has initially opened hydrogen energy transportation to traffic on Beijing-Tianjin, Chengdu-Chongqing, Shanghai-Jiaxing-Ningbo, Jiqing and Hanying-Yi Expressway, and has successfully explored the Beijing-Shanghai hydrogen energy transportation corridor. The company has built a total of 11 hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply centers and 128 hydrogen refueling stations, basically covering the "3+2" hydrogen fuel cell demonstration urban agglomeration and becoming the company operating the largest number of hydrogen refueling stations in the world.
