　　On April 9, the Hubei Provincial Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry High-quality Development Conference was held in Beijing. The theme of the conference is "Beautiful Hubei, Green Sharing, Promoting the High-quality Development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt with High-level Protection of the Ecological Environment".

　　Zhang Wentong, Vice Governor of Hubei Province, pointed out in his speech that the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government attach great importance to the development of energy conservation and environmental protection industry, and include it as one of the nine emerging characteristic industries, and introduce a series of support policies for accelerating the development of energy conservation and environmental protection industry in Hubei Province.

　　Zhang Wentong stressed that it is necessary to adhere to the main direction of new industrialization, take scientific and technological innovation as the guide, promote the upgrading of traditional industries, cultivate and grow strategic emerging industries, build a modern supply chain system, and accelerate the development of new quality productivity.

　　At the meeting, the Hubei Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment signed strategic cooperation agreements and memorandums with the China Environmental Protection Industry Association and relevant financial units, and relevant cities in Hubei Province signed agreements with energy conservation and environmental protection enterprises to jointly promote the construction of key projects such as the protection of the Yangtze River, the comprehensive management of small watersheds, and the development of ecological environment.

　　It is reported that in 2023, there will be a total of 2,463 energy-saving and environmental protection enterprises in Hubei Province, with an operating income of more than 510 billion yuan, and 7 key industrial agglomeration areas covering 5 regions including Wuhan, Xiangyang, Yichang, Huangshi, and Jingmen have been initially formed. Hubei Province has established 8 national key laboratories and 2 national engineering technology research centers in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, and the number of scientific and technological innovation platforms ranks among the top in central China.
