On March 30, the "International No Waste Day" with the theme of "Zero Waste City, Green Future" was successfully held in Luomen Park, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing.

Since the start of the construction of a "zero-waste city", Yuecheng District, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, has comprehensively and rapidly transformed and built green industries, improved the quality of garbage classification, focused on the development of green assembly buildings, and taken multiple measures to build a "zero-waste Yuecheng".

Recycling: Turning waste into treasure

In the best practice case of Shaoxing's "zero-waste city" construction, the chemical recycling industrialization project of waste polyester textiles of Zhejiang Beauty New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Beauty New Materials) in Yuecheng District is on the list.

On the basis of absorbing the world's advanced recycling technology, through long-term continuous technology research and development, the beauty new material has always adhered to the core and development direction of green environmental protection, and the design of chemical recycling technology from the source to the end has followed the principle of low energy consumption, low emission and low pollution, and has completed the reuse of renewable resources through the recycling, treatment and processing of waste clothes.

Through the repeated recycling of waste textiles, Beauty New Materials recycles about 36,000 tons of waste textiles a year, which can save nearly 440,000 tons of oil, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 72,000 tons, and save nearly 44,000 kilograms of coal. At present, the products of beautiful new materials have been widely used in high-end sportswear, professional wear, school uniforms, men's and women's fashion, home textiles and bedding, automotive interiors and other fields, in a real sense to achieve a closed permanent circle from clothes to clothes.

The Chengtou Renewable Resources Mud (Muck) Resource Utilization Project, which is mainly engaged in the disposal and recycling of waste mud, has an annual production capacity of 3 million cubic meters of waste mud and 1 million cubic meters of dry soil for resource utilization. Since it was put into operation, the project enterprise has undertaken the disposal of more than 70% of the waste mud in the urban area of Shaoxing City, and carried out technological innovation and research and development of the previously discarded mud filter soil, and the mud drying and stabilizing soil has been successfully applied to transportation, municipal, housing construction and other fields.
