Experience the fun of tie-dyeing in the "Desert Dyeing Workshop", order a bowl of sweet water at the "Pumpkin Home Sweet Water Shop", and chat with the makers of Tsinghua University at the "Distillator Cafe"... This summer vacation, enter The national civilized village-Lizu Village, Yiwu, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, has white walls and black tiles, full of greenery, and an endless stream of tourists, making it very lively.

With the scenery of poetry and painting and the charm of vitality, Lizu Village, which is now a beautiful and prosperous village, was a veritable "dirty, chaotic and poor" backward village 20 years ago. The locals called it "Shuiniujiao Village", which means "no hope for development". Poor village.

In 2003, Zhejiang launched the "Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Renovation" project, and Lizu Village also started the road of butterfly transformation. From environment to production, to life and ecology, a beautiful picture of rural revitalization is slowly unfolding in Lizu Village.

The beautiful butterfly transformation of Lizu Village is a microcosm of Yiwu's continuous protection of its "green waters and green mountains" and its "golden mountains and silver mountains". In recent years, Yiwu has accelerated the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, and has made every effort to fight the battle of consolidating and upgrading "fresh air", the battle of "improving the quality of clear water", the battle of "clearing clean land and waste", and the battle of ecological restoration and biodiversity protection."Beautiful environment" activates the "beautiful economy" and achieves a regional GDP of over 180 billion yuan. It has been rated as an excellent assessment of the construction of "Beautiful Zhejiang" for seven consecutive years.

"Nine factories and one network" to coordinate the promotion of water control

In the early morning, stroll through Yiwu Xiuhu Park, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the blue waves and greenery; at night, stroll along the Yiwu River. The scenery on both sides is beautiful and the flowing water is gurgling... The Chou City with clear water and beautiful green scenery benefits from Yiwu's continuous and in-depth promotion of water control work.

Not long ago, the evaluation results of Zhejiang's first batch of provincial-level water ecological restoration demonstration pilots were announced, and Yiwu was on the list. This is another good news received by Yiwu's water control after Zhejiang's highest award for water control-the Golden Tripod of the "Dayu Ding" jointly managed by five rivers.

Why Yiwu's water control has won many awards depends on Yiwu's development. Yiwu is a well-known world capital of small commodities. It has a dense population and a large number of enterprises, a large amount of sewage and a large amount of direct drainage, and a few water resources and a poor self-purification capacity. This once brought serious water ecological and environmental problems to the city. To this end, Yiwu focuses on four key links: water environment, water resources, water security, and water ecological restoration, and has launched a series of reform measures to promote the steady improvement of water environment quality.

Among them,"nine factories and one network" and digital empowerment are the big moves of Yiwu's water control reform. It not only opened up the pipe network of nine sewage treatment plants in the city, coordinated the expansion and quality improvement of sewage treatment plants, and implemented the sewage artery dredging project, but also comprehensively integrated the Ecological Environment Branch, Construction Bureau, Self-Planning Bureau, Water Affairs Bureau, More than 100 data from the Bureau, Water Affairs Bureau and other departments, superimposed and integrated weather, hydrology, water quality and other information to form a sewage dispatch model that includes static or dynamic data such as pipe network facilities, water conservancy facilities, and sewage pipe network water quality and quantity. Build a comprehensive management and control platform for "smart drainage" in Yiwu City and build a map of the sewage pipe network so that the blood of the city buried deep underground can be "visible and tangible."

"With this platform, we can accurately analyze that 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. every day is the peak of sewage treatment. Due to the large treatment area and many industries settled in, Jiangdong Sewage Treatment Plant's sewage treatment capacity is stretched. So we used the platform and used 'nine factories and one network'to dispatch sewage treatment plants with relatively spare capacity such as Fotang and Yiting to assist in treatment." Xiaojin, a staff member of Yiwu City Water Construction Group, introduced that based on the processing capacity of each sewage treatment plant and combined with the peak and valley conditions of sewage discharge, they scientifically dispatch water volume through the "Smart Drainage" comprehensive management and control platform, and "divide the spare capacity of each sewage plant into whole", transforming from traditional extensive water volume scheduling to refined scientific management and control, effectively alleviating the operating pressure of each sewage plant and achieving efficient and high-quality sewage treatment.

In addition, Yiwu has also promoted "differentiated water supply" in accordance with the principle of "high quality and excellent use, low quality and low use" in view of the fact that the per capita water resource possession is less than one-quarter of the province's average level. At the same time, it pioneered a national cross-regional water rights transaction. Since 2019, a total of 170 million cubic meters of water has been diverted from Pujiang and Dongyang.

Today, Yiwu's water is not only "alive" and "cleared", but also brings beauty to urban and rural areas.

Cultivate "cells" and build a "waste-free city"

Recently, every morning, Zhejiang Huachuan Shenneng Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. located in Chian Town, Yiwu is a busy scene. Garbage transfer trucks poured garbage into the hopper. Then, two staff members used the operating system to command giant "manipulators" to grab the garbage and transfer it for disposal.

"These garbage that enters the market needs to be fermented for 5 to 7 days. After leaching out the water in the garbage, it is sent to the incinerator for drying, and finally it is burned in the high-temperature incinerator to be converted into high-temperature combustion gases and stable properties. Solid residue." One of the staff members said that combustion releases heat, adds water to produce steam, and then uses the steam to drive the steam turbine to generate electricity, thus completing the "rebirth" journey of "turning waste into treasure" of garbage.

Although garbage is transported in in an endless stream every day, you can't smell any bad smell when walking in the factory area of "Huachuan Environmental Protection". "Today's waste incineration power plants are no longer the stench and garbage everywhere in people's traditional impression. Thanks to modern technological innovation, the waste residue, odor and sewage generated during the waste incineration process can be effectively treated." Jin Zhongcai, general manager of "Huachuan Environmental Protection", said,"This treatment method not only solves the problems of traditional landfill treatment technology occupying a large amount of land and slow digestion of garbage, but also reduces environmental pollution, but also promotes the development of circular economy. It is a kind of sustainable waste disposal method."

It is understood that the company's daily domestic garbage processing capacity reaches 3000 tons, and the annual garbage processing capacity is 1 million tons. While digesting the city's domestic garbage, it can also provide about 300 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, save about 90,000 tons of standard coal every year, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. About 243,000 tons.

In addition, the company has further expanded the scope of solid waste treatment to treat papermaking sludge for central heating and incineration power generation. It now has an annual sludge disposal capacity of 360,000 tons, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 60,000 tons.

"Turning solid waste into treasure" is one of the goals of building a "waste-free city". Therefore,"Huachuan Environmental Protection" has also been selected into the list of Zhejiang Province's top 100 "waste-free urban cells" in 2023, which was just announced some time ago, and has become an officially certified provincial "waste-free factory."

Not only "Huachuan Environmental Protection", but also Li Zucun, which was shortlisted for "Waste-Free Villages", and Yindu Huayue Hotel, which was shortlisted for "Waste-Free Hotels"... Nowadays,"Waste-Free Urban Cells" are blooming everywhere in Yiwu, connecting points into lines, gathering points, systematically promoting the construction of "Waste-Free Groups" and "Waste-Free Supply Chain", exploring and developing "Waste-Free" research and learning routes, and striving to create "Waste-Free Communities" and "Waste-Free Business Circles" that integrate "Waste-Free Urban Cells"setIt has effectively set off a strong atmosphere for creating a "waste-free city" across the region, providing green power and ecological support for the high-quality construction of a common prosperity modern metropolitan area.

Restoration and conservation to protect biodiversity

On July 26 this year, Yiwu City Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, Yiwu City Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, Yiwu Branch of Jinhua City Ecological Environment Bureau and Zhejiang Normal University "Provincial Key Laboratory of Wildlife Biotechnology and Protection and Utilization" jointly acted to release 160 artificially bred Yiwu small salamanders in the larvae forest area of Shangxi Town.

"The environmental conditions here are superior, with little human interference, and a population of Yiwu Hynosalamander has been found here." Zou Tao, chief of the Resource Management Section of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Yiwu City, said that a total of 300 Yiwu small salamanders are planned to be released during this release activity. The first batch of young salamanders this year will be released on that day, and the second batch will be 140 adults for the next season. Through release activities, its population can be spread and the purpose of ecological protection can be achieved.

Yiwu Hynosalamander is a rare amphibian in China. It belongs to the class Amphibians and the order Cauda. It was named after it was first discovered in Dachen Town, Yiwu in 1985. This ancient creature has existed on earth for more than 300 million years and is known as a "living fossil". In 2014, the "China Red List of Biodiversity" listed Yiwu Hynosalamander as a "vulnerable" species; in 2021, the "National List of Key Protected Wild Animals" adjusted Yiwu Hynosalamander to a national second-class protected animal.

In addition to Yiwu's small salamanders, Yiwu has also discovered more than 60 national key protected species, including white-necked long-tailed pheasant, pangolin, huperia long-handled, spring orchid, Labujia, tiger tattooed frog, and cygnet. According to the global biodiversity survey, as of now, 2712 species of various species have been found in Yiwu, including 1255 species of terrestrial vascular plants (826 species in the wild), 208 species of large fungi, 527 species of insects, 311 species of terrestrial vertebrates, and 409 freshwater aquatic organisms.

The diversity of ecological species in Yiwu is also a vivid reflection of the continuous improvement of the local natural ecological environment in recent years. "In recent years, Yiwu's natural ecological environment has become better and better, and the number of species discovered has increased. I like natural scenery photography more and more." Zhao Dichang, a photography enthusiast from South Korea, said.

In Yiwu, there are not a few citizens who share the same feelings as Zhao Dian. In recent years, Yiwu has implemented in-depth zoning control of ecological environment, deepened compensation for ecological and environmental damage, continuously increased supervision of natural ecological protection and restoration, promoted the construction of provincial pilot projects for ecological restoration of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grasses, strengthened biodiversity protection, investigation and evaluation, and built A unique experience place for biodiversity, and the quality of the natural ecological environment continues to improve.

Today, with the sky blue, the earth green, and the water clear, all things are full of vitality and beauty, jointly painting a beautiful chapter in the modernization of harmonious coexistence between people and nature in Yiwu.
