Sinopec releases 2023 social responsibility report

On June 25, Sinopec released its 2023 social responsibility report in Beijing. This is the 17th year that Sinopec has issued a social responsibility report to disclose to the public the company's practices and effectiveness in fulfilling its responsibilities. This report has been rated as the highest "Five-Star Best" rating by the China Corporate Social Responsibility Report Rating Expert Committee for four consecutive times, maintaining a leading level among Chinese companies. The report shows that in 2023, Sinopec's domestic oil and gas production equivalent will set a new record, vigorously promote the construction of "smart factories", invest 253 million yuan in free assistance funds for rural revitalization and complete 2.198 billion yuan in consumption assistance throughout the year, creating a new situation in various tasks, writing a new chapter in the journey of Chinese-style modernization.

Make every effort to implement industrial transformation and resolutely secure the energy bowl. Sinopec vigorously implements the "Seven-Year Action Plan" for oil and gas exploration and development, makes every effort to increase production and ensure supply, and strives to build a green energy supply system with complementary energy, coordinated development, and safety and reliability. Throughout the year, 155 million tons of proven oil reserves and 281.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were added. Domestic crude oil output was 35.44 million tons and natural gas output was 37.8 billion cubic meters, demonstrating new responsibilities and new achievements in ensuring national energy security. Leading the pace of hydrogen energy development in my country, a total of 128 hydrogen refueling stations have been built, making it the company that has built and operated the largest number of hydrogen refueling stations in the world; a total of more than 6000 charging and replacing power stations have been built across the country, and new steps have been taken in the construction of integrated service providers for oil, gas, hydrogen and electricity services. As the largest geothermal energy development and utilization enterprise in China, it successfully hosted the 7th World Geothermal Conference, providing a Chinese model, Chinese ideas and Chinese standards for global geothermal energy utilization. In line with the trend of shifting petroleum use from fuel to raw materials, we will continue to strengthen the research and development and production of high-end resins, high-end rubbers, high-performance fibers, special fine chemicals, etc., and lay a solid foundation for building a manufacturing power. Efficient and environmentally friendly aromatic hydrocarbons help green manufacturing in the textile industry. The three major high-performance fibers further enhance my country's military equipment strength and the industrial upgrading of the national economy.

Sinopec collaborates to promote carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, and growth, and unswervingly follows the path of ecological priority and green development. Implementing the "Green Enterprise Action Plan", all 113 companies have completed the creation of green enterprises, and a total of 21 companies have been rated as national green factories by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The "energy efficiency improvement" plan has been carried out for nine consecutive years, saving 860,000 tons of standard coal throughout the year.
