The Cixi Activated Carbon Regeneration Center project has been fully completed, reducing emissions by 280,000 tons per year after reaching production capacity
With the completion of the refractory brick laying inside the internally heated recycling furnace body, recently, the first phase of the activated carbon recycling center project with a total investment of 46.75 million yuan has been fully completed. As a "Green Island Project" in the field of exhaust gas control planned and constructed by Zhejiang Province and Ningbo City, Ningbo Jietan Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. will play an active role in environmental protection fields such as exhaust gas control of industrial enterprises in Cixi City.
There are many small and medium-sized enterprises involved in VOCs in Cixi City, most of which use activated carbon adsorption processes. Previously, a large amount of replaced waste activated carbon was directly entrusted for incineration and disposal. This disposal method not only caused a great waste of resources, but also greatly increased carbon emissions. In October last year, in the Dunhe Circular Economy Industrial Park in the north of Batang River in Xinpu Town, the activated carbon regeneration center project was officially started.
According to reports, the activated carbon regeneration center project will be constructed in two phases, and three waste activated carbon regeneration production lines are planned to be built.
Among them, the first phase is 15,000 tons, and a pellet recycling line with an annual disposal capacity of 10,000 tons and a powder and pellet shared recycling line with an annual disposal capacity of 5,000 tons will be built respectively; the second phase is planned to build a recycling line with an annual disposal capacity of 5,000 tons. "This project can achieve centralized and efficient treatment of VOCs. The iodine value of high-quality recycled carbon after activation can reach more than 800, which can be fully suitable for industrial enterprise exhaust gas purification and other fields." The relevant person in charge of the Cixi Branch of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau said that after the project reaches production capacity, it can effectively solve the disposal problem of regional waste activated carbon, and at the same time produce a green island effect. The waste activated carbon can be recycled after regeneration, and effectively reduce the environmental cost of the enterprise."Based on the calculation that the recycling cost per ton of qualified activated carbon does not exceed 8000 yuan, the activated carbon use cost of VOC-related enterprises is expected to drop by more than 40%, and the adsorption efficiency will increase by more than 30%."
As a supporting project for environmental protection infrastructure in Cixi City, the completed VOCs "Green Island" project mainly serves industrial enterprises in Cixi and surrounding areas (counties and cities) that use activated carbon to control VOCs exhaust gases, and also takes into account other related industries that generate waste activated carbon. Enterprises to provide one-stop carbon replacement services for relevant enterprises.
It is predicted that after the activated carbon recycling project of Ningbo Jietan Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. fully reaches production capacity, regional VOCs emissions will be reduced by about 2000 tons/year; waste activated carbon will be recycled and recycled to effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the production of new carbon and incineration of waste carbon. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 280,000 tons every year, truly realizing the green island concept of "reducing pollution, reducing carbon, and green recycling".
