Recently, with the completion of the installation of No. 5 wind turbine in Meishan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Zhejiang Province's first low-carbon terminal demonstration project-State Grid Ningbo Zhoushan Port Wind, Solar and Storage Integration Project has been successfully put into operation, which means that Zhejiang has built its first "green power terminal".

The so-called "green power terminal" means that by integrating and applying renewable energy technologies such as wind power, photovoltaic power generation, and energy storage systems, and relying on intelligent energy management systems, it achieves efficient utilization and optimal configuration of clean energy at port terminals, and achieves green port, low-carbon, sustainable development.

In October 2023, Zhejiang Province Seaport Group, Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group and State Grid Zhejiang Province Electric Power Co., Ltd. signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Promoting Green and Low-Carbon Construction of Ports in Zhejiang Province." The Ningbo Zhoushan Port Wind, Light and Storage Integration Project is a landmark project for the implementation of this agreement.

According to reports, the No. 5 wind turbine installed this time is a key component of the entire wind, wind and storage integration project. Its height reaches 125 meters, equivalent to the height of more than 40 floors. Each blade is about 100 meters long and weighs about 27 tons. The sweeping area of the blade can reach 28,000 square meters once, which is equivalent to the size of four standard football fields. Under the condition of suitable wind speed, the fan can generate about 9 kilowatt-hours of electricity for every revolution, equivalent to 9 kilowatt-hours of electricity, providing a steady stream of green energy for cargo ships, trucks, gantry cranes, etc. in the port area.

The project's annual clean energy power generation capacity will reach approximately 59.17 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 22,600 tons, equivalent to the carbon emissions of 4.1 million cars a day. It will promote green development of the port and achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. It is of great significance.
