15 textile companies in Shaoxing received carbon footprint certification
The Market Supervision Bureau of Shaoxing City of Zhejiang Province and the Zhejiang Green Certification Alliance recently issued the first batch of carbon footprint certification certificates to 15 textile companies in Shaoxing City.
The so-called carbon footprint refers to the greenhouse gas emissions involved in the entire life cycle of a product, such as material use, production and manufacturing, transportation, use, and disposal. The carbon footprint label is the certification of the quantitative evaluation of the carbon footprint, also known as "Carbon Label", the carbon footprint of a certified product discloses carbon emission information in the form of a label.
Shaoxing, as a national pilot city for carbon footprint certification in the textile industry, has achieved a series of major results in recent years. It has not only released local standards for a series of carbon footprint technical specifications such as chemical fiber fabrics, cotton fabrics and silk fabrics, filling gaps in the industry, but also released Shaoxing's textile industry carbon footprint logo, textile companies have a "production reduction" carbon footprint logo. In addition, Shaoxing City has also built a textile product carbon footprint management platform to achieve full-process, full-cycle and full-coverage product carbon footprint accounting.
The 15 textile companies that received the certificate this time are all practitioners of green and low-carbon development. Shaoxing City Boya Clothing Co., Ltd. is a suit customization company. The company has carried out digital transformation and installed photovoltaic power generation on the roof of the factory to do everything possible to reduce carbon emissions. On the certificate of Boya Clothing, the reporter saw that it marked "Carbon footprint value per declared unit of product: 35.88 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent." "This figure is the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by this suit from raw material production to final scrapping." Zhang He, the person in charge of Boya Clothing, said that this suit is mainly aimed at the European and American markets. With the "carbon label", it has more confidence to enter the international market.
Shaoxing Qianyong Textile Co., Ltd. is a leading company in nylon printed fabrics and has won fabric orders for uniform equipment for events such as the 2024 Paris Olympics. After receiving the certificate, Xiao Xingshui, general manager of Qianyong Textile, excitedly told reporters that the product that received the "carbon label" certificate was a nylon digital printed fabric of the company. Through continuous strengthening of research and development of new technologies, new processes and new materials, 1 square meter fabric emits only 0.76 kilograms of carbon dioxide from raw materials to factory."'Carbon label 'will become the golden business card of the company and will be more favored by international brands."
"Keqiao currently has nearly 8000 textile companies. Last year, the scale of textile exports exceeded 100 billion yuan." Ling Xiufeng, deputy director of the Shaoxing City Market Supervision Bureau, said that carbon footprint certification will promote the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the textile industry and is of great significance to Shaoxing's textile exports in the future.
