2024 "Low-Carbon China Tour" and Climate Action Week-Heihe Station launched
Recently, the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the People's Government of Heihe City jointly launched the 2024 "Low-Carbon China Tour" and Climate Action Week-Heihe Station event at Daheidao Ecological Square in Aihui District, Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province.
Yan Shidong, director of the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Wang Yecheng, deputy secretary of the Heihe Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor of the Municipal Government, Liu Ming, deputy mayor of Heihe City, and Lin Qichang, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Ecology and Environment of Heilongjiang Province, attended the launching ceremony.
At the launching ceremony, children of the Oroqen ethnic group dressed in gorgeous national costumes danced to the cheerful melody. A promotional video for the establishment of an ecological civilization demonstration zone in Heihe City was broadcast on site, and the current environmental quality status of Heihe City was released. During the period from September 2 to September 5, Heihe City will also carry out a Climate Action Week exhibition, public participation in the ecological protection work of the Heilongjiang River Basin with the theme of "Accelerating Green Development and Creating a Beautiful Border City", and "Beautiful Longjiang and Low-Carbon Heihe" exchanges. A number of national participatory activities with novel forms, high participation and wide coverage have been carried out, forming a good atmosphere in which everyone, everything, all times and everywhere advocates ecological civilization.
In recent years, Heilongjiang Province has made addressing climate change an important strategy for economic and social development, and issued the "Heilongjiang Province's 14th Five-Year Plan to Address Climate Change", actively promoting the pilot construction of climate-resilient cities, carbon dioxide emission intensity continues to decline, economic and social development has been comprehensively transformed into green and low-carbon, and the modernization level of climate change adaptation capabilities, climate governance systems and governance capabilities has continued to be effectively improved. Ecological and environmental publicity work focuses on nodes such as "National Low Carbon Day" and "National Ecology Day" to strengthen publicity and education on adapting to climate change, popularize climate change knowledge, publicize low-carbon development concepts and policies, encourage public participation, and promote the implementation of greenhouse gas control tasks. As the first batch of low-carbon pilot cities in the country, Heihe City has anchored the "double carbon" goal. Industries are booming in pursuit of "green". Cities live in "green". Life follows "green". The quality of development has been significantly improved. The energy structure has been accelerated and carbon sink capacity has continued to improve.
This year is the first time that the "Low Carbon China Tour" and Climate Action Week event has been held in Heilongjiang Province. After the Heihe Station event, it will also be held in Xingtai City, Hebei Province, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Sanya City, Hainan Province and other places.
